There's a 1x2 laid flat on top of the foundation wall. The top row of license plates are fastened to that with short drywall screws and all the rest are attached with zip ties. Well, except for the ones attached to the basement floor joists. They're screwed. LOL

    Amsoil oil question 🙋

I used "brand x" in my power equipment for more than 30 years. I liked the idea that it was lighter colored than anything else I had previously used. Then one day, I noticed that my favorite oil had taken on a very dark appearance. That was about 15 years ago. Doesn't seem to have made any...

Looking for a "very" sticky grease

This is the stickiest grease I've ever used. We put it on spline driveline shafts and it stays put. Wurth SIG 3000 grease

    What's in your grease gun???

And today, another tube of: Mystic JT-6 high-temp. It's a 4-year-old tube of grease that was sitting on the shelf in the man cave (inside). Does it ever go bad ? What's the realistic shelf life on grease that sits in an environment-controlled area ?

    What's in your grease gun???

Does anyone else remember that five gallon bucket of grease with the big stick ? We'd fill the grease guns using that stick. Or, grab a handful and pack wheel bearings. Or whatever. We never gave a thought as to what kind of grease it was. Grease was grease. Used it for anything that needed...

If you could buy a somewhat entertaining car what would you pick

Chevy Spark. I always reserve one when I travel, but they never have one when I get there. So, I'd at least like to test drive one. And, I'd want it in Kryptonite green metallic.

    9mm Score!

I admit it. I'm living under a rock. We got 9mm for less than $9/bx - delivered - right before the rush. Just haven't even looked since then. I had no idea

    What's in your grease gun???

I found this Wurth SG 3000 grease. Some of the members on another forum highly recommended it. I have to say that it is the stickiest, tackiest grease that I've ever seen. We're using this on splined, rotating shafts. It stays put...

    Leaf Blower car drying

I never, ever thought about using a leaf blower. We always used our old thread-bare bath towels (100% cotton) to dry the cars.... They built a brand new car wash, and it offered a blow dryer wand - and it's the snizzle, especially on motorcycles. We use our leaf blower on the motorcycles now...

    Change it or wait

I had a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. My Son got that car, after 120,xxx miles - when he totalled out HIS car. The oil got changed every six thou, or so. Sometimes more. Super Tech oil and filters, or whatever was on sale for less $$$. The second deer strike took it out at 270,xxx miles. Still...

    Mobil Delvac™ 1300 Super 15W-40

Here's the list of oils that have filed and received the JASO M* approvals. Note that not all motorcycle-specific oils appear on this list. Mobil 1 and Amsoil come to mind here. They note MA/MA2 compatibility on their labels, but did not receive JASO approval and do not show the symbol on the...

    Mobil Delvac™ 1300 Super 15W-40

The JASO M* rating is not simply the wet clutch friction test. There are other items, such as maximum zinc/phosphorus, sulfated ash, etc. Here's a handy link http://www.jalos.or.jp/onfile/pdf/4T_EV1904.pdf

    Mobil Delvac™ 1300 Super 15W-40

JASO MA: This is the standard specification for oils that are used within one oil system (where the engine, gearbox and clutch use the same oil). These oils don’t contain any friction modifiers. JASO MA1: This is a lower standard specification for motorcycles that require different oils for the...

Did the API 2003 Spec Change affect 90W?
