Spent some time with Dad this weekend. Now that he is retired he has decided to sell the building he ran his business from for the last 50 years so we have been going through everything. Thought someone might find this interesting.

Took the time today to install new valve stem seals and new upgraded lost motion assemblies from Honda. I included a comparison pic of the new and old lost motion assemblies

I ran into this problem literally every time I had to remove a wheel on a Lincoln LS when I was working as a tech at a Ford Dealership.

I had a 94 Accord 5 speed that I sold back in 2010 to a neighbor to use as a commuter car. It had about 315k miles at that point and I occasionally still see it around town with the same guy still driving it. I did do the timing belt and water pump as well as a couple small things when I bought it.

Which portable pump are you guys using? I was checking some out on amazon and there were a lot of reviews that weren't so great.

Unfortunately there is a big problem with cars and bikes both cutting corners that leads to a lot of head on accidents. I used to drive up there almost each weekend with a small group but haven't been in years because of how bad it has become.

Ignition parts. OEM only, specifically for the Hondas.

So is this the first UOA we are seeing of the Valvoline Restore oil in the second from left column?

Well the distributor will only fit into to camshaft one way it has an offset notch to make sure of it. I could see the possibility of the cam gear being a tooth off when the belt was installed effectively advancing or retarding the timing depending on which way the cam turned. Its easy to tell...

Still thinking but it was too late to edit my last post. You could remove the inspection plug so you can see the timing marks on the flywheel bring cyl 1 to top dead center then pull the valve cover to see if the cam is in the proper position.
