Do you prefer simple or fancy rear-view mirrors?

I gotta have the convex clip on rear view mirror. I used a sharper image one that must be 30 years old for a long time. Recently I found a huge one, armor all brand that must be 18". Thing is not even rear view anymore. I can see all up and down the sides of my vehicle if I move my head. it...

Not trolling, but all things being equal, why not just use SuperTech for everything?

There's some people out there who don't know much about oil. Spending the extra on a non-st oil is usually the least of their problems.

    Giant rims and maintenance considerations

Here is the website that lists the rims as 20lb. I got them from an abandoned storage locker. Not sure what the tire weighs, but they did seem shockingly light compared to my 18" ford bullet rims listed at 31lb...

    Giant rims and maintenance considerations

Thank you but I feel like you said there's lots of reasons to not use tire sealant and then just explained the reasons I should. As for the article, none of it applies to me. I do not drive a motorcycle, care about a mess or expect it to plug bigger leaks than it can. I do not have Tpms...

    Giant rims and maintenance considerations

First I want to thank you for being an engineer, your profession helps all of us live better lives. Yes i have had a 20 incher bend on the seal before with the 205/35/20zr thin tires. I am thinking of pumping the 22s with truflate truseal tire sealant since it's mad max out there. Sounds like...

    Giant rims and maintenance considerations

The 22" rims ride really good, the mfg website lists 20lb weight for the wheel itself and that seems about right handling them. Not a huge increase in weight mounted. I read about the larger diamater tire effectively decreasing the gear ratio. I feel like that is true in how it effects...

    Giant rims and maintenance considerations

I put them on my mustang. Personally I like to ride harsh, like an old wooden roller coaster. I've got polyurethane bushings and stiff shocks. Goes well with the exhaust noise. I also like sitting up higher.

    Giant rims and maintenance considerations

Giant rims may be even more important than led lights if you want your car to be mistaken for something younger. I decided on 22" rims to replace the stock 16", so now it actually looks like a car from the future. Some online experts state giant rims will break your car, citing increased...

    Aftermarket vs. OEM lights

I have had good experience with apc bulbs, all stock purchased by pilot when apc lost the lawsuit. Very bright, last longer than the car, ymmv. All, but especially halogen bulbs it is crucial to observe install hygiene. Wear clean gloves, insulate every connection.

08 Ranger - Pick my next differential fluid

I have seen a chart that recommends 85w140 for "high temp" in the 7.5 https://ddb6a72d2feaeca8eb46-183c3b2eaab36bc0f4003ed58203ce4f.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/mustang-fluid-capacity-2005-2009_35574f9d.jpg

    are gear oil additives good?

I gotta say I thought of this exchange when I saw bar's engine repair at walmart. After trying it I think it is easily worth twice the price of stp grey bottle. Very interested in trying out the gear repair the next time I have the diff open

Oil change vote for my 1991 Taurus 3.0 Vulcan engine.

My 1988-1993 2.3l ford tempo had a chart in the chilton or hayes manual of weights that were suitable In different temperatures. 10w30 had the widest range. I ran supertech high milage full synthetic. Still do when there's not a big sale.

    are gear oil additives good?

While the product name is "gear repair" a press release I found says: That all sounds really great for the effort and cost. I do still get some grinding and clunking from it at times.

    are gear oil additives good?

I've had my eye on bar's leaks gear repair 1816. Not much info about it out there. Says it repairs gears. My car came with an empty diff. The gasket change and fill with redline did such wonders I don't think I'll touch it again.

Intermittent Oil light when car turns on

Just an update nearly a year later: I just got the light after 3500 miles on mobil 1 AP and a Purolator boss, longest run yet. Changed the filter to try to buy some time until it is warmer out and that mobil1 is black, very dark brown wiped off the dipstick. I'll probably change to...
