I thought that too, BUT the bottom one has been ran for over a year, so simply due to air being sucked through the pleats it could have 'squished' them. Although, I haven't seen the OEM filter yet, and would be interested if it could rival this $9 amazon special for the price.

We can only compare them the only way we know how. That is 'performance' do they filter (UOA) and by the way they look, so far that is the only 'objective' measure we have.

That is the comical part, both are rated for one year/12K miles. So they both should be changed in the same amount of time.

I agree. I thinks it a good product but they don’t know how to ‘use it’ and it causes it to collect dust on the shelf. So now, I’ll let it collect dust on my shelf. 👍🏼

It is being discontinued at AAP, but walmart and others are still showing it at regular retail. So it might just be leaving AAP/CQ.

Carquest is made my Amalie, and I have used the synthetic oil before and it works great. The conventional is definitely not a extended oil change oil, but will work good for a 5-6k mile OCI.

AAP has now included the 'new' Fram filters in their filter bundles. That didnt take long and its the same price they have always been, so that's a plus.

I might be wrong, but doesnt the TG have the same filtration rate as the XG? Both are 99% at 20 microns.
