Since this is not my personal car and my family member isn't much up to par with changing a lot of stuff. I think the best option for them is to just find decent tires, and I would prefer not to run cheap Chinese tires and would think if they wanted to step down a tier and not run...
I am thinking more of an all-season tire since the car will be in the south and we experience a pretty mild winter. Would you still recommend a Falken brand tire? and when you state that I must use the correct size are you speaking about tire width or rim size? My thought was to run 275 tires on...
I do not appreciate the snide remarks about being able to 'afford the car'. No one stated that someone couldn't afford them, I was trying to help them and give them some advice on how to maintain the car the best way without spending an arm and a leg every 12-18 months on tires. They did not ask...
The fronts are 275/40 R20 XL
The rears are 315/35 R20 XL
I told my family member they could go with a square setup to help save a few dollars, and the BMW tech agreed. I was thinking if they had a square setup, they might could at least rotate the tires to see if that helps with tread life.
I know people like boutique brands and I think they are great. I personally have always been a Turtle Wax fan, I feel like bang for buck you get out of the products is unbeatable and you can ALWAYS get it locally. I haven't had the chance to try out the new ceramic line, but once my supply gets...
The driver doesn't know the difference to be honest. I believe the tires on it now are not runflats since they just got a patch in them at the dealership. I believe they are pirellis on the car right now.
I have a family member who just recently purchased a 2015 BMW X5 with 54k miles, the previous owners was the original owner and my family member is the second owner. The X5 has always been dealer maintained, and my family member just went into the dealer for an oil change and the tech stated...
Sounds like you gave it a lot of thought. My buddy has a CC and it was a stage 2+ tune from unitronics and he loved it. I am sure you'll be happy with the car (y)
I never stated that Unitronic's wasn't a safe tune? I was going Unitronic's on my MK6 GTI before it jumped time. I also said that I had heard, I wasn't too sure, but I do know that it is a dealer by dealer choice, not all of them are equal on it.
VQ's are not the quietest engines, and if are 'lucky' enough to drive a nissan manual transmission, you will be thankfully the engine isnt as loud as the trans. The nosiest 6MT I have ever driven.
I actually decided to go with the platinum (rear) and gold (front) pads from AAP, I just received my $25 rebate from a purchase in June and with a 25% off code and some speedperks coupons. It makes them as good or better than majority of what i could order off of rockauto. i appreciate the input!
