I have the same noise on my 90 Maxima (VG30E). It has a hydraulic valvetrain so there is no need to adjust. What car is that? Pickup? Quest?

From what I heard, the OEM wires is the best quality-wise in various Nissan engines. NGK is good except they don't fit as well as the OEM wires (connections on the cap).
