    Vette falls off the lift..

We have a Land Cruiser specialist down the street. My cousin told me yesterday that his buddy brought them his 100 series for an oil change. Dude drained the oil and never refilled it and blew the engine 😂 It sucks but you had one job.

Not trolling, but all things being equal, why not just use SuperTech for everything?

I cannot get myself to use ST in my F150 Ecoboost that gets abused towing. I just can't. I do use it in my Lexus GX and 95' 4Runner. The thing is, unless I am in dire need of oil within a day or two, i usually just wait for a rebate or sale to happen and pick up any of the name brand oils for...

Why does xw20 and xw30 show essentially the same/similar UOA but people blame cafe?

This. I would guess vehicles are on the road longer not because they arn't having catastrophic engine failure, but because they are not disintegrating. I knew a ton of people with late 90's early 2000's GM trucks, including my parents 2000 Chevy Astro Van. All of them had perfectly good engines...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

Why is that silly? It's true. You wanna brag about how their AWD is symetrical but it comes at a cost. Arguing that the weight distribution doesnt matter, its the whole package is silly. A car design from the ground up to be a sports car, not a repurposed econobox, doesnt have a 60/40 split...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

Modern engines are making way more power from the factory. A 3.0L Ecoboost makes 400 hp in an SUV. A 2L WRX motor makes as much HP as a 3.0L 2JZ. Fords 2.3L is making like 350 hp in the Mustang with I also would not say the modern engines are not overbuilt. It depends on the brand. Ford seems...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

Like I said in numerous posts, it was very apparent in my own subaru. And I can tell you which one I would rather drive around Nurburgring regardless of which is the fastest, and its not the FWD.

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

Still though, they managed to figure out how to get the weight distribution to be worse than my F150.

1/2 ton pick-up as daily driver - parking?

This is more enraging when its the idiot in the Chevy Bolt or Honda Fit that should have 3' on all sides of their car in any normal parking spot and still park crooked and 6" from my door. They are just straight up ignorant and inconsiderate. At least parking my behemouth truck I try as best I...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

Yeah that was always the issue. Its right on the engine so when you are not moving or going slow its getting an updraft. I brought mine to the dragstrip once or twice and the IAT's were through the roof by the time I got through the staging lanes and it was my turn. It probably didnt even cool...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

Looks a lot like a Legacy. Why do they still do the TMIC? Weight distribution? or is it a fake hoodscoop.

1/2 ton pick-up as daily driver - parking?

is it cheaper to own one vehicle or two? I pay one insurance, one car payment, and maintenance for one vehicle. also, when I do tow with my truck, its often in to the desert 50 miles from nearby towns. My truck needs to be reliable so buying some old better for “truck things” is kind of out of...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

Do they still mount the turbo under the motor like the 2010+ LGT with the short header? The ultra long rear mount turbo on the '05 to 09 LGT was crazy. That was half the reason they were laggy I think. You had a mile and a half of manifold to fill with exhaust before the turbine saw it.

All You Guys That Think OEM Recommended 16 or 20 Weight...

As far as I know, Ford and GM both specify heavier oils in some applications(Mustang GT Track Pack for example) even though they are the same engine.

    2021 Ford 7.3L V8 - E350

My MIL bought a 24' with the 7.3L/6 speed in it last fall and i drove it around Wyoming for probably 4 hours. Doing 75mph on I-80 in a headwind was not an issue at all. It had power to spare even at 8000' and it actually got better MPG's than my F150 towing a 5500 lb travel trailer.

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

The design also hangs the engine out over the front axle. The half shafts come out of the transmission instead of having a normal transfercase, driveshaft and front diff under the engine, which means the engine hangs out in front. It results in like a 60:40 weight distribution. I always thought...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

That is one thing I hated about my Legacy GT. The engine was boarderline useless below 3000 rpm. And then when you hit 3000 rpm its like a grenade went off and the next thing you know the thing is at 5500 rpm and the turbo would crap out and it fell on its face. It had a usable 2500 rpm range.

    2019 F150 5.0 - Another Truck Rental Review

240° is where I back out and will stabilize there at about 55mph on climbs if its a really hot day. If I pushed the truck I could EASILY crest 250F and put it into thermal protection mode. Easily. I think the 6R140 was standard until the 2017 body update and then they started putting the 6R80...

1/2 ton pick-up as daily driver - parking?

I have an F150 supercrew with the 6.5' bed and a 157" wheelbase. Yes this is an issue. I do have to park out in the parking lots sometimes and I usually back in so that I can use the camera to get my bumper right on the line, but even then it will stick out. Or I just park with my bumper over...

Who's Looking Forward to the Release of the 2022 Subaru WRX?

That went away in 2015 when the WRX went to the FA20DIT motor. I agree though, the boxer rumble did suck.
