Its uses a lot less when not towing... Im seeing 1/2 quart loss in 700 miles with no towing vs 2x as much towing....

I have a 2000 6.0l as well. Change it every 5K regardless of OLM ....THe OLM is based off of old conventional oil...

This is the reason that i go to a new Cadillac Dealership that just opened up near me, they use the more exspensive Uprf63r filter while the other Cad dealership used the cheap Pf 63 .... I was pissed at the,m big time....

Well I can report that QS Conventional was NOT the way to go! Ate 1 1/2 qts in 700 mostly towing miles.. Full synthetic burn way less, but you guys already knew that!

Ok. Finally hit 300K, Going with Quaker State Conventional(semi-Syn) 10w-40... $16 at walmart fpr 5 quarts...as an experiment to see how the next 1000 miles goes... So far, great oil pressure at Idle (40 psi) cold.....will report back..

Ok Well, After Putting on the new Updated Driverside Valve cover, I can report that after 1000 miles, it still uses one Quart of Oil! The new cover doesnt have a removable PVC valve like the original one did, it looks to be a permanant built in one... So Im due soon to Change my oil at the 300K...

Im going to order that new one now and report back in a few months...Thanks!

Getting close to hitting 300k and 5000 miles on the Chevron Delo Syn 15-40, getting a blackstone Kit and will post results in a few Months..

UPDATE! After a 1000 miles, The engine used one quart of oil exacty... So consumption is basicly the same, The good news is Oil pressure is were is should be at, but i would say that i definatly noticed some reduction in power with the thicker stuff in there....I dont know whats better, less oil...

Ok, so Got the 15w-40 in there, and so far Oil Pressure back up quite a bit! Hot Idle used to be at 20Psi, now at about 35psi. and Highway psi went from 38 to 55 Psi.... These are number that the truck used to have in its younger days... Will report back in a few thousand miles as far as...

As it turns out, the noise is from the center support bearing..! thank god!

ya i will, just bought 2.5 Gallon Jug of Syn Delo last night for $50...

I am going to put 15w-40 Chevron Delo Synthetic in it in 800 miles and report back on how it worked out here in a few months with report on how it affected my oil pressure and oil consumtion, currently, Truck has 25PSi at Hot idle(used to always be 40psi) and on...

I have 295,000 Original Miles on my year 2000 4L80E Chevy Trans, and it has had Mobil 1 ATF in it since 30k, Getting prepared to change it at 300K and i see that it is discontuned..... What is my Alternative? Valve maxlife? even though its not as thick? What would you guys do?
