High Performance Lubricants Euro oils...whose going to try it?

Thanks. I was looking on hploil.com site. Much appreciated Seems these motors (especially tuned and with bigger turbos) really hammer the oil. Here's the thread on my car. My Golf R is close to 2x the stock power. After only 3k miles you can see how the Motul Sport 5W50 shears down, so I'm...

High Performance Lubricants Euro oils...whose going to try it?

Looking forward to seeing the results! I went to the HPL website and it appears the Euro 5W40 formulation isn't orderable quite yet? You have an "in" or am I just challenged? :) I just added MPI to my R with the Vortex hybrid I've had on the past couple of years, so I'll be running higher E...

2018 VW tuned Golf Sportwagen track use 69.5K/3.9K OCI Liquimoly Molygen 5W40 + MoS2

I think these cars when tuned, bigger turbo like mine, etc just beat on oil. The Blackstone UOAs I've seen on the Facebook mk7 Big Turbo page, EQT Facebook page it's the same thing. Here's another one from the EQT page. Tuned '19 GTI @ only 1500 miles. LiquiMoly Molygen 5w40.. Then 2nd one is...

Yup, I have the Eurosports on mine. I did the complete mounts and installed at same time as the PSS10 coilovers.

I decided to go with the Eurosports since the reports were no NVH like the Superpros or especially the 034s. In the past I wouldn't have cared but I guess I'm getting old! So far so good, but they don't give you as much camber as the Superpros. I have a used set of the Superpros in the garage if...

I hated the handling of the R stock. I came from a track sorted RWD BMW M coupe that was just incredible in the twisties and on the track. It was no where as fast in a straight line as the R but handling was so much better plus being RWD...I just prefer RWD on the track. The R stock understeered...

Nice! I've seen some great builds on the 1.8s as well with big power. Is anyone running more that you are aware of than Nikolai's(Futrell in OR) wagon? I know he was a built block but still was very impressive on the 1.8. I'm sure you have seen Innovative working on the Alltrack DAZA swap. I...

And just in case it's the RIP one typically doesn't want to happen with an engine I already have quotes on built blocks ;) The good thing is (as I'm sure you are aware) these mk7 engines can handle a **** ton of power very reliably as long as you keep the tq in check and in that 420-440 lb/ft...

    '16 Stage 3 Golf R 40k Motul Sport 5W50 ~3k miles

Yes, I had the foam one that came with the R600 originially. There were a few reports of the foam breaking up on the inside and getting into turbos. Plus I just didn't want to hassle with the cleaning and re-oiling every so often. Like I mentioned in another thread I use to have to do it all the...

Looks like 930.engineering did a virgin Blackstone analysis on the 5W50 Motul Sport and it came back a touch lower @ 17.7 (vs Motul Spec sheet @ 17.9) https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/16-big-turbo-golf-r-running-ethanol-blend.336456/page-4#post-5925800 Granted that was done almost 5...

so highest % drop was the M1 0W40 @ ~23%? How many miles on that oil? If I'm calculating right on my example with the Motul Sport 5W50 the % drop was over 31%.(Motul spec sheet shows 17.9 vs Blackstone analysis on my oil @ 3k miles = 12.29. If you hit 23% doesn't seem out of rhelm of possibility...

I have the R600. I swapped out the foam for the cotton filter for ease of maintenance. The cleaning and re-oiling is kind of a PITA on the foam. I did it all the time on my old 2-stroke MX bikes. Doesn't mean I want to continue that pain though on cars! On fueling I'm perfectly fine for...

I'm probably not being clear....you don't have a choice with the Racingline oil cooler. Only their filter fits......it's why many won't buy that oil cooler but right now its pretty much the only game in town for "off the shelf" mk7 oil coolers unless you want to cobble together your own custom...

I have STFT data from logs on my Cobb Accessport. Not sure what P/W is? I've done some cooling upgrades. CSF DSG and Auxiliary coolers --> https://csfrace.com/csf-cooling-releases-the-missing-link-for-the-mqb-platform/ From the feedback on the mk7 track forums for this platform the main CSF...

The crazy thing here is I'm only on E30 (blending 91 pump and E85) and the factory Direct injection. Plenty of people out there with this platform (as well as GTIs and Audi S3s with same motor) are running MPI (Multiport injection) and full E85. I have been considering switching over next year...

Assuming the Motul Sport 5W-40 comes back after 3k with similar drop in cSt viscosity #'s as the 5W50 I'm probably going to change up to one of the other Motul 5W40 oils. Would Xcess or Xclean be the better oil to use based on my mods/intended use?

The car also has 2x the stock horsepower with all the modifcations It's a 2nd car and most driving is hard driving...canyon runs, lots of redline pulls, etc. I intended for the car to see some track days(road course) as well but that didn't happen this past yr. It was recommended in another...
