Got to the dealership today when they opened, was told everything was getting finalized and it's being prepped for the road test and to come back around 3.
Mind y'all, it was supposed to be completely done back on Tuesday and that's what I was told, multiple times.
Ugh!
My tint is dark enough I had to sign a waiver when I got it installed. Limo tint all the way around. When you get acclimated to it and it's all you know for 2+ years, going untinted sucks LOL
Mom's 2004 Honda Element, which I've been driving while my Pathfinder has been in the shop.
165K on vehicle. 5K and almost 2 years on this OCI because she basically only uses it to buy groceries once a week. She only has to get gas maybe once a month.
OUT: a mix of super old API SH 10w30 and...
Hopefully, the final update.
It got pushed out a couple days because the car ahead of mine ran into new issues and needed more parts. Even though mine was already up in the air, the issue was known, and all parts were already on hand but whatever. I guess this dealership's shop is down to one...
The VQs are definitely hard on oil. My 2014 Pathfinder with the VQ35DE will turn new oil jet black in 1000 miles. It runs really hot too, I've actually burnt myself on the hood prop a couple times, so I know the oil is under a lot of stress.
I work at a paper mill so I gave up on keeping it clean, the most I do anymore is wipe down the dash and windows maybe once a month.
Even if they just did that I won't complain.
Latest update
Rear diff arrived yesterday, the shop is down to two techs and one new hire, it'll be done sometime next week as there's 5 transmission jobs ahead of me, but since mine will only take about 4 hours they'll see if I can be done first.
However because of how long I've been waiting...
I do a lot of selling on marketplace and eBay so does my girlfriend. I recently scored a no name thermal label printer for $5 at the local goodwill, I found and got the sketchy Chinese software it originally came with working on my computer and a stack of thermal labels from UPS. Now I need help...
So on that note, going forward I will only drive in 2WD mode unless I actually need 4WD. Which is rare anyway.
I only ever kept it in auto because in auto I got slightly better mpg than 2wd.
I'm more confused than normal at the moment too. Between both shops I've been told like 6 different things now so I'm not sure what to believe anymore I'm truly thinking the rear diff / coupling / whatever issue caused the CVT to falsely set off the judder code. At least I'll hold onto that hope...
I've had a few people including ex-Nissan coworkers from my dealership shop days tell me that the judder code absolutely could be a false alarm from the rear diff confetti'ing itself, so I can only hope it's true. Since I have a scan tool capable of doing so, I plan on clearing the code and...
Stupid question most likely but I got to thinking earlier
Is it possible that the clunking and front end lurching from my rear diff breaking down could have falsely set off the judder code...???
That's my plan just fix the diff but leave the CVT as is because I'm not having any driveability issues with it yet or feeling the judder at all
I'll research some additives
I'm mentally exhausted at this point and I don't know what or whom to believe. Just got more news from Nissan. So despite the rear differential being the actual problem, apparently it actually has had CVT judder for a couple months now. But the judder is so minor that I haven't even noticed it...
Yep! The Nissan dealer found no codes and they even emailed me the report from their scan tool. Nothing there. And the noise was the rear diff binding up.
