    I read 4-6 Post about Oil Pressure , Oil Filters , Oil By Pass Valves ? _ ? _ ?

Agreed. An oil pump for your average auto or light truck engine is going to flow way more oil than a tiny little pump in any OPE engine, so many of the OP's concerns matter not.

SN or SP oil in air-cooled Mowers

The more modern API oils are specifically formulated to protect AGAINST sludging. There's no reason to think that they would cause an issue

20 HP Briggs V-Twin Intek Issues

I see what you're saying now - I misunderstood. I think you're referring to the jet tube (or whatever it's name is) and the o-ring that seals it up. It's a really easy fix at least.

20 HP Briggs V-Twin Intek Issues

I'd be surprised that the design has one running really rich. I have a similar engine and carb on one of my mowers and the plugs are showing pretty lean. You may benefit from a carb freshen, but sounds like you have some other factors at play here. Also if you didn't already know, many of those...

New to me Savage 111 in .270 WIN. Thoughts on ammo and glass

Well here she is with the scope all mounted. Pardon the mess, with all the house work being done space is severely limited. Most of the tools, tool box and other stuff is all piled into my man cave. And no I'm not compensating for anything with that sunshade attachment 🤣 I've got the bore...

    Briggs Quantum refuses to prime

I've ran into that too and just attributed it to low quality replacement parts

    My new Murray push mower

Why pay a 15yo when you can just conscript your 10 or 12yo into doing it for free like when we were kids?? :ROFLMAO: I started out pushing our 1.4 acre yard growing up which was a blast . At least it was a self propelled unit (but very heavy). I did graduate to a bicycle handle...

    Oil filters ?...

Depending on the number of filter that crosses over or that you select (compatible thread and gasket), the bypass may well be fine. For instance a commonly used filter would be the Wix 51348 which has a published bypass spec of 8-11psi If you're interested, Wix has a great site for looking up...

Lapping honing scope mounts - how important is it?

I'm sure that I own WAY more rifle and scope than I have skills at this point. I haven't actually figured out what I have available to me for distance, but I'm pretty sure that it's nowhere approaching 1000 yds 😂

    Spring startup and Oil change

Thanks for posting the service specs - I've wondered what rpm that torque number was at. So at 3060 RPM, with 6.75tq, you have 3.93HP

    Spring startup and Oil change

Are you sure that they're 6.75 hp? I thought that number was actually the torque rating? I have seen several where the 6.75 is pretty boldly written but in the small print it says torque at XXXX rpm. 6.75hp is a lot of power on a smallish mower deck.

Lapping honing scope mounts - how important is it?

None taken. I'm familiar with guns and shooting - I own many and have shot for years, but I am very new to the world of proper rifle calibers, scopes and shooting at distances beyond 100yds.

    Breaking in a new gun....Glock 42

You should get the TX22! I've never been a fan of Taurus, but heard good things about the TX22 and came across one cheap at a gun show, so I took the plunge and it turned out to be an awesome little gun. Accurate, very reliable, not ammo sensitive, holds 16 rounds instead of the usual 10 that...

Lapping honing scope mounts - how important is it?

Technique? In honing or mounting without honing?

Lapping honing scope mounts - how important is it?

I don't remember seeing this sort of question pop up before, so I thought that I'd make a separate thread just to have a searchable subject. While I wait for my new scope to show up, I've been watching some videos on scopes and mounting them and have now seen it brought up a few times to lap or...

Need Help with a Small Engine

You're probably not wrong, but in my experience a drill bit of the appropriate diameter will still do the job.

Need Help with a Small Engine

Bottom pic, the brass "screw" with the slot in the head. That is the pilot circuit and is probably just a fixed orifice - remove that and see what you've got.

GM 2.4 timing chain gone amok! (and repair)

That's just an artifact of the bright light and metal in the oil. I do too. I feel like we've become far too accustomed to just throwing stuff away and not actually using our brains for something other than a blunt instrument. We've definitely gotten spoiled with the amount of readily available...
