East Penn Duracell battery failure in one year

I only use the Duracell from Batteries and Bulbs these days. 6 years in, no issues. First one replaced after 4, still worked fine. Second one leaked just barely around the terminals, still worked fine. Replaced no question. I'll stick with them for now.

    Winter gas formula

Ethanol is not as efficient for MPG's as gasoline is. It's used in winter fuel to prevent freezing. And that.......................................is the rest of the story.

    ATF change

My Toyota fluid always looks like that after 40k runs. I do a drain and fill, about 2.5 quarts, and everything is fine. You can still see through the reddish fluid if it's a thinner stream and I changed the filter back at 57k. I would leave it until 75-80k.

Ravenol fluids for a `18 4Runner drivetrain (thoughts)

I was very impressed today when changing the transfer case with Ravenol 75w. I did NOT know they had a hose integrated inside the bottle to make things VERY easy. Also did the front diff (Valvoline bags 75w-90) and the ATF (Toyota WS). All I have left is the prop shaft with Valvoline red NLGI...

Would you have a problem with a reputable shop performing a coolant flush without factory (Honda) coolant?

Super easy to do yourself, but if you have them do it, make sure you specify this: I use whatever pink is cheapest when I do my 4Runner, typically either Peak or Zerex.

Rental Car review 22 Jeep Compass

Why not? My anecdotal evidence suggests you have received the exact product. "however I don't think it should be that bad at 42,000 miles."

    Corn Hole boards finishing.

The proper way to do it is to prime it twice first, and wipe down with tack cloth. I used colored primer to match the paint. Then use semi-gloss, two coats, to finish.

    Toyota 75w-90 GL-5 vs 75w-85 LX GL-5?

I just put in 3 quarts of Valvoline 75W-90 into my rear diff and it didn't explode yet. SUPER easy with the bags on a 4Runner with the spare directly in the way. Took about 10 minutes for drain and fill. Zero mess. I will also be putting in two quarts of that same oil into the front diff. As...

Honda CR-V engine feels very hot after driving

I had the 2005 version, 284k, never replaced anything but the coolant. Never had the issue you're speaking of. Sounds like oil may be dripping onto the exhaust. The oil filter on those is in a less than ideal position. Check for double-gasketed filter potentially. Happened to me once.

2002 Nissan Sentra (kid's first car)

Yesterday we managed to replace the radiator with a Denso, actually put in a thermostat (Aisin) because there wasn't one, replaced the upper and lower hoses, and obviously coolant (Peak older green). Replaced the PCV valve and managed to shove the grommet into the valve cover. Got that fished...

2002 Nissan Sentra (kid's first car)

Well let's see....... Already we need a radiator, so I just bought the hoses/thermostat/radiator. This needs to be done this weekend, so any tips are appreciated. The dipstick is broken off in the tube. HELP. I've tried two different hacks already, no removal yet. ATF clearly has never been...
