Really like the oil in 5W30 in my Tacoma doing 5k OCI. The price difference compared to M1 EP is a little suppressing. Thinking about switching to that next time.

I switched from 0w-20 Valvoline EP to 5w-30 Valvoline EP in my 2022 Tacoma. Noticeably smoother and quieter, but I do live in a hot climate and do not need the cold weather starting protecting.

I try to use the same brand oil as much as I can, but I agree it probably doesn't matter much as long as it good quality. That being said I am going to try to only use Valvoline EP in my Tacoma.

For Tacomas I believe this. But I don't think there is any measurable difference that would justify the switch, besides the price of the oil itself.

Oops. By spec I mean all manufactures call for 0w20 oil.

I have gone between switching to 5w30 or sticking with 0w20 for my 3rd Gen Tacoma as well. I live on the Gulf Coast so cold weather performance doesn't matter to me. I most likely will be sticking with 0w20 due to all of the cars I will be maintaining use that spec. I will be using Valvoline...
