    Bye bye Valvoline EP

Really like the oil in 5W30 in my Tacoma doing 5k OCI. The price difference compared to M1 EP is a little suppressing. Thinking about switching to that next time.

0W-20 Oil Preference: Toyota / Lexus

I switched from 0w-20 Valvoline EP to 5w-30 Valvoline EP in my 2022 Tacoma. Noticeably smoother and quieter, but I do live in a hot climate and do not need the cold weather starting protecting.

    High Performance Lubricants PCMO Series

Is the Differential Life fluid GL-5/4 rated? Looking to use HPL for my manual trans and front/rear diffs on my Tacoma. Owners manual states for manual trans fluid "Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil GL-3 (GL-4) or equivalent" for differential fluid "Toyota Genuine Differential Gear...

    2022 Tacoma 3.5L oil recommendations

The best oil is fresh oil. I switched from Vavoline EP 0W20 to Valvoline EP 5W30 for my second oil change (5k mile OCI) on my 2022. The truck seems quieter/smoother, but I can't prove that the thicker oil visco caused this. Valvoline is supposed to help with the engine ticking noises from what...

    Post your latest oil change

2022 Toyota Tacoma 3.5l V6 10K Miles 5K OCI Out, Valvoline EP 0W20 + OEM Filter In, Valvoline EP 5W30 + OEM Filter I'm probably making it up in my head, but I swear the motor feels smoother/sounds quieter on 5W30 vs the recommended 0W20. Who knows, the best oil is clean oil. Really like the...

    Are you brand loyal?

I try to use the same brand oil as much as I can, but I agree it probably doesn't matter much as long as it good quality. That being said I am going to try to only use Valvoline EP in my Tacoma.

    2020 Tacoma oil

For Tacomas I believe this. But I don't think there is any measurable difference that would justify the switch, besides the price of the oil itself.

    2020 Tacoma oil

Oops. By spec I mean all manufactures call for 0w20 oil.

    2020 Tacoma oil

I have gone between switching to 5w30 or sticking with 0w20 for my 3rd Gen Tacoma as well. I live on the Gulf Coast so cold weather performance doesn't matter to me. I most likely will be sticking with 0w20 due to all of the cars I will be maintaining use that spec. I will be using Valvoline...
