    Tuned VAG 2.0 TFSI

Redline 0w40, or Royal Purple HPS 0/5w40 would be excellent choices.

    Tuned VAG 2.0 TFSI

Agreed with above. Redline and the like seem to work quite well in high boost engines, at keeping both the motor and the turbos alive. Probably the best thing you can do is add both an external oil cooler and a Turbo Timer.

Is the era of "Ricers" over?

In the Euro "scene", it's gotten to where E46 BMW's, B5 A/S4's, and the like areppriced to where there's been a huge influx of 16-17yo kids getting the cars. It's the reason I am barely active on any of the forums I used to be a big time regular at. The new fad is "stance", which is even worse...

    High boost E85 oil recommendation

Not making anywhere near that power, but in my high compression, high boost Bimmer, I have had nothing but phenomenal results w Redline and occasionally RP XPR.

    Handgun dilemma

I have had quite a few P226's, and favor the 357SIG chambering, each has been impeccably reliable and extremely accurate. The 9mm shoots soft but I prefer the extra oomph from the 357 as well as the flatter trajectory, and the round works extremely well with the GemTech 9mm suppressors I have...

car auctions. anyone with experience here?

Never dealt with them, but I have gotten a few gems at auction including a Hartge H35 (early E30 3-series w the 3.5L M30 swapped in), an Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo, and an 850CSi twin-turbo. Those are the most unique, but I have gotten a few E30 325is, E34 540i, and such, and always at prices well below...

    Redline Water Wetter

I mentioned above that I use it in Street cars specifically for the extra "security", although I doubt you will get more than a few seconds, it still may be enough to be the difference between new engine or not. The other thing I have found, is that my cars get to temp a fair bit quicker w WW...

    bmw oil

As a collector, builder, and racer of BMW's, I've spent a lot of time working on figuring out what the best oil is formy needs and usage patterns wwhich range from varied driving DD to dedicated track cars. The absolute best has been Redline, 0/5w30/40 depending on the location, and Royal...

    Redline Water Wetter

    It absolutely does work, running it in 7 track cars ('00 328Ci, '06 M3 ZCP, '90 M3, '06 Z4M Coupe, '94 MR2 Turbo, '99 M3 S50B32 Euro, '05 S2K; oh, and a 2006 Miata w an LS7 swap), and during sustained high speed driving @ track, coolant tempo decreased anywhere from 8 to 21 degrees Fahrenheit...

    Intel DP67bg motherboard "RAID" question

My gaming rig was built pretty much "sans budget", in that I really went pretty all out on it because I hadn't built anything like this in a while. 3930K (good clocker, too; 4.94Ghz 24/7 @ 1.376v, will do 5.45GHz @ 1.512v for benching), Rampage IV Extreme, 4x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z 2133 9-11-10-28...

Cabin Air Filters - how often?

I asked my friend, retired BMW Master Mechanic running his own indy shop now, and he said: "I have seen too many people either neglect their cabin filter, or not even realize it exists, and the result is far too often that the blower motor resistor fails. One could argue correlation vs...

Red line Vs Amsoil cleaning power

I've only seen TBN for 0w40/5w40, and it was 10.2 and 11.4 respectively.

    Intel DP67bg motherboard "RAID" question

Onboard RAID isn't completely useless, in fact when you are running something like a media storage PC for streaming video to other parts of the house, I sure would not be shelling out for a HW RAID Card (and the PERC5/i or 6/i would not work, as media storage generally = 3-4TB drives). I agree...

    0W-20 in a BMW M-60

With the extra strain BMW motors put on oil (VANOS, lifters, and so on), running too thick or thin of an oil CAN change the way your car driver by altering the cam timing, etc. Is it a big risk? No. Is there any reason to use 0w20? No.

Red line Vs Amsoil cleaning power

Every single one of my BMW's was cleaned completely of sludge, and even most varnish, by simply using Redline oil. There has never been a hint of sludge since, using it or RP as the only oils, and this (along with the incredible protection I saw from a post-20k mile teardown of my 328Ci's M52tu...

    0W-20 in a BMW M-60

I would not recommend using anything less than a 0/5w30 in any BMW, and I honestly don't see any reasonto. The ideal oil weight IME is 0/5w40 for non-M cars.

Revolver vs Semi Auto for carry

I agree with the above. It was a vastly better worded explanation of what I meant that what I could have said. The fewer rounds you can put into an attacker to stop them, the more humane (efficient) it is, and the more likely you will negate the threat without loss of life. And while I would...
