There was a notice last week I saw that said if you don't update the software on certain Apple products, then they would completely stop working or something. Can you hook it up to ANY internet and update the software?

Most of these smart chargers have a way to bypass this "safety" to get them to start pumping out voltage, if you read the manual. If not, I hooked the used battery up to a good battery via jumper cables, and then you can start pumping voltage into it.

What oil is in it? Did you recently change the oil? Is this new smoking problem after any recent maintenance?
