Pinion yoke loose, is the bearing ruined?

Shake the driveshaft up and down. Is there a lot of play? I had one that was so bad you could shake it up and down a half an inch. It was a mud truck so I didnt care to fix it.

Are you willing to jump start a stranger's vehicle?

If its a lady, I would offer to help. Some dudes I would help. Soy latte boy ? Nope. Figure it out. This is assuming its a suburban or city type area, with lots of help available. Out in the wilderness, I wouldn't leave someone stranded.

    30-06 whitetail recommendations

Your rifle is a hundred years old and probably just had to get a 5 inch group at 100 meters to be accepted. Or worse, no accuracy standards at all, since World War 1 was all hands and guns on deck, who cares about accuracy. Have you accuracy tested this gun, with different weight and types of...

OWB options for Stainless Steel firearm

It's a tool. Who cares. I have beat to heck guns that look rough. Inside they are like new and they are maintained, lubricated, and they work. Wear adds character. As long as it's not rusting I could care less about the finish on my tools. My opinion.

rebuild calipers now to store or rebuild when ready to use

You'll get rid of the car before you ever need another set of calipers. So logically, speaking, just throw them on a shelf and forget about them.

Stay at home dad. One on one defensive tactics and firearms instructor a few times a year to mostly surgeons, doctors, and lawyers, corporate executives, via word of mouth. Before that, a police officer. Before that a court bailiff. Before that a corrections officer in a mental health state...

    2019 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T

If it was a problem, you would hear about it. There is minimal chatter on some forums about older 1.5T engines, Minimal. , I say go for it. Even if it did have issues it can be mitigated with shorter oil change intervals, not that big a deal.

Help me pick- ZT mower maintenance

Ive done hundreds of oil changes on commercial Kawasaki engines and I always put in 15W40 unless the owner requested otherwise. These motors seem to REALLY like a 40 weight. (In south Florida) SAE40 or 15W40 is my choice for this engine.

In Praise Of The Synthetic 5K Mile OCI In 5 QRT. Sump ?

5000 mile changes is what I typically and historically have done. SuperTech synthetic at Walmart is a bargain at $14.XX Fram Ultra about $8, used twice. So about $19 for a synthetic oil change every 5000 miles, that I can do in my driveway in 10 minutes, and is done right. Not a bad way...

How many oil filters do you normally keep in your stash?

I USED to stock 100 to 150 quarts of oil and 10-20 oil filters at all times. I decided to get away from the storage. I've been using up all my oil and filters. I have about 20 quarts of oil left and about 3 oil filters. I'm going to keep ONE oil change in stock and ONE oil filter in stock, for...

What Harbor freight tools do you give 5 stars?

I saw some migrant workers bring back two full cart full loads of tools. Tools that were HEAVILY used for construction. Harbor Freight no questions asked swapped all the tools out for brand new tools. They brought two carts worth of well used tools in, and left with two brand new cart fulls of...

Honda Accord V6 Destroyed -- Timing Belt Failure

He didn't tighten the idler properly. It worked it's way loose, is my guess. Let him tear it apart. Probably less than $800 to get it working again.

    Reusing oil filter

I've used oil filters twice for going on 2 decades now. Never a problem. 10k to 15k miles on the filter before I change it. Never break the seal. It's not worth it. If I go through the trouble of dropping the filter, then it just makes sense to put a new one on in its place. It makes every...
