Closing a road for a film crew

Film crews are a PITA. When I lived in Toronto they would close a lot of the parks for filming. Weekends they would shut down Bay Street(Canada's Wall Street) for filming. It became a part of the reason I moved away.

    High Positive Fuel Trim -sometimes-

For $30 it's worth a shot to change. They are wear items at about 200k kms. Could be your cat is about to go though. Haven't read whole thread so don't know if it's been replaced.

    are rebuilt alternators good?

I've had good luck with rebuilt Remy. Last one had a slightly noisy pulley bearing but I really didn't want to exchange. The noise went away in 1000kms.

I didn't expect FedEx tracking to get worse

I know my last 3 Fedex from US have all been late by exactly 2 days. Plenty of storms in past days that they are still dealing with logistics wise.

    Swaybar bushings

Just get OEM bushings. Usually the same price a the dealer. There can be minute differences in aftermarket. The extra $5 is worth it.

    Maintenance costs - your tolerance

Maintenance costs would def. factor into a new car decision for me. Probably stick to base trims with a timing chain and hopefully a hybrid. As of now; fixing stuff when it needs it? No issue. it costs what it costs. Me doing my own work keeps costs at bay. I hate driving mechanically deficient...

Your Major Annoyances on Your Car!??

How come a lot of you Americans wind up with used Canadian trucks? A company I work for buys new f350's, uses them for a year then auctions in Texas. Are there substantial savings for you guys?

    AFM Delete

Lovely thread. She gave this shop a ton of money. Can she get any back? If this is well documented then this was obviously fraud and theft. What happened to the cats? She probably didn't need them but they be getting $1500 per OEM cat.

    2008 Liberty OLM Update.

My 09 grand caravan is like this. In the winter with city driving it'll go off every 3000km. It is very cold winters where I live. When I highway drive for work in the summer it'll go off every 9000km. It's def. conservative and dialed for conventional. I just ignore and always change every...

    Reducing cold start wear

ha. I'll be going to Kirkland 0w20 syn this year. Normally stick with 5w20 but it gets down to -35c where I live. Will also use a battery tender on nights below -10c. I replaced my battery a year ago and last winter it took a beating. Always started but now I'm seeing 12.3v at cold start...

Key fobs both quit working on the grand caravan

Maybe it's the Wireless Ignition Module. My 09 had a faulty one. I'm not sure the 4th gen vans have one though. Jeepman or Levy are very knowledgeable about these vans over at chryslerminivan.ne*

Walmart in Canada closing Lube and Tire Express

Walmart Canada has really gone downhill IMO. Always out of stock; terrible auto supplies dept & terrible produce quality. My assumptions are based off Calgary & Prince George stores. I did use a Walmart Mr. Lube in Calgary for a tire swap and the staff were great there though.
