Valvoline Max-Life Red Bottle and Dexos 1st Gen

Good Afternoon Everyone, So I've been trying to answer this question for myself, and if its been discussed/answered before I apologize for my Google-Fu failing me. I recently noticed that Valvoline Max-Life (Semi-synthetic) Red Bottle no longer is listed as meeting Dexos. I realize that's...

    F250 Needs Tires

My vote would be for a set of Cooper Discoverer AT/3's, but I also don't mine Hankook Dynapro ATM's and Kumho Road Venture AT51's

    SuperTech Dexos1 Gen2

I've thought about using this in my Suburban. But Valvoline FS Maxlife is not all that much more expensive, and I really do like Valvoline products.

Appropriate oil for high mileage GM 5.3

2006, 5.3 so you have the LM7? I have read opinions from others that 0w40 is a great oil choice for this engine because it doesn't have AFM (which from what I understand is what causes the majority of the oil burning issues in later 5.3's). I say keep on keepin' on and see how she does. I think...

US Constitution / Bill of Rights Question ...

First of all, no where in the Constitution/Bill of Rights do the words "Separation of Church and State" appear. That was to come later in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to the Danbury Baptist Association: "Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man...

Resizing back down to stock, 5.3L 2005 Silverado

Are you sure those are not stock? I had a 2007 Sierra Z71 (and my 2012 Suburban) with that size as stock. Both of those vehicles came that way from the factory and it shows as an added option due to a package on the vehicle (Z71, etc). I do like narrower tires for snow however and I'm sure the...

Have cell phones finally broke the bank?

I don't know that I will pay that much. I keep thinking about going to a flip phone myself because I just can't justify the cost of my smartphone, but it makes life so easy in some regards.

    Nexen Roadian A/T Pro RA8

I'll echo the above avoidance of Nexen tires. They came on a pickup I bought. Scary even on dry pavement. Snow? Rain? I had better luck with my Trans Am.

    Cast a quick vote, please!

I don't know...I would lean towards the Nissan because of the standard 5.6 Endurance V8 (that and I have an aversion to Dodge).

    GM 4718M vs Dexos1

Unless I am mistaken, I believe Dexos 1, Gen 1 superseded GM4718M. But I could be wrong, after all I did not stay at a Motel 6 last night

Toro lawn mower with 6hp B&S Quantum engine (AKA Frankenmower) Out: Mobil 1: 0w-40 (it only had about 10 hours on it but we were using it as a flush because the prior owner's maintenance on the machine was sketchy) came out black and nasty In: Shell Rotella T5 15w-40

    Tires for work truck

My suggestion is the Cooper Discoverer AT/W, basically the AT/3 with more siping and a slightly softer compound but they still have a 50k mile warranty.
