My car asks for 5w30. Are you telling me that I cant use a 0w-40 oil in it. I was thinking of using 0w-40 XD3 for year round. Both on my 01 Celica and 99 Sunfire GT?? I guess I could try blending it with a 5w-30 Dino.

Has anyone ever tried useing Howes diesel fuel conditioner in a Gasoline Engine. Would it even help or would it cause more harm. I have read that some products can be used in either type of Engine.

I forgot to mention that the 0w-40 is Esso XD-3. I know both are for Deisel engines but I have read that they both will work for Gasoline engines..

If your car took 5w-30 and you lived in Canada and can get either one for free. Which one would you choose and why?

My car recomends 5w-30,I can now get free esso 0w-40XD at my work. We use it in all of our Kenworths. I know it is a diesel oil. I was wondering if it would cause any harm if I used it my gas engine car year round?? Or is there any benefits of using this kind of oil in a gas engine?
