Well I changed the oil again today(redline 5w30 with 1000 miles or so) and put in pennzoil euro 5w30 . Now... the tick is back. so if im thinking correctly this noise is directly related to oil because when i bought the car it had a pretty good tick.changed the oil to rl and seemed to quiet it...

if the rear diff is like in a 2015 ss for sure change it. mine was black at 1500 miles and stunk to high heaven. get on camaro forum and read about it. most people go with royal purple. thats what i did. it has the additive already in for the posi unit.

it got worse QUICKLY

well i went with redline 530 and the ticking got worse after about 500 miles!! i pulled a few of my rocker arms apart and noticed excessive wear in the trunnion. I installed bronze bushings on the rocker aerms and its MUCH quieter. I am going to change my oil because i think this redline caused...

i run a qt. of 15-40 rotella in every oil change. treat it like a worn engine.

cheap 5w30 oil and change it once a month for 3 months. then valvoline maxlife 5-30 /3000 for ever
