Car prices to plummet amid oversupply

Looks like the best option for cheap used right now is a sedan. Probably because demand is for anything that looks like a SUV. I guess nobody wants to drive a top of the line Toyota Avalon because they are selling cheaper than an old rusted RAV4. Going to see one today.

Car prices to plummet amid oversupply

Just finished a conversation with a local repair shop I use. He has a auction license and flips cars.. He said he’s pretty much given up going to the auction. In recent months local dealerships in this area are being outbid by foreign entities. The used vehicles are shipped overseas and sold at...

1st time apartment renter, is this white mold?

Hopefully it’s dripping somewhere outside or into a tube that is not blocked. It’s common for the drip tube to get blocked needs to be cleaned out every year. What’s under you? The basement or another apartment?

1st time apartment renter, is this white mold?

I plan on swapping salt for sweat soon. Moving to Florida in the next couple years. In a Florida group I posted about AC and fan use. Unanimously they said that AC always on is normal but fan always on was a bad idea. Because in the Florida humidity, you want the AC to cycle off for a short rest...

Car prices to plummet amid oversupply

I’m in SO NH currently looking for a used car for my GFs son. His current car has rusted to the point it won’t pass inspection. I’m not seeing any drop in prices, any increase in supply. 3–5 K cars are extinct or scams. I see a few older vehicles between 6-10k that may or may not pass...

Latest Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filter as of 2023 January - Is it still a good choice?

OK. My LQ9 was not piston slap. The start up noise is gone and it never came back. That’s what’s important. I shut it off. Swapped oil filters hot. Same oil. Topped off with less than a half quart and turned it back on. Took about 15 mins. Noise was gone. Noise was gone the next morning when it...

Latest Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filter as of 2023 January - Is it still a good choice?

I’m using the term many people claim is the noise that GM engines make at start up. If you think it wasn’t piston slap, Ok. The “noise” I was experiencing the first 10–15 seconds after start up went away immediately after hot swapping a Fram Ultra with a spare TG. Yes I have tried different...

Latest Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filter as of 2023 January - Is it still a good choice?

My GM LQ9 6.0 would rattle at startup. “It’s normal”.. “They all do it” “it’s GM piston slap” That’s what everyone said. I had been using the Ultra for years. Pretty much since it came out. Until one day I decided to do a random hot swap with a different model fram filter. A TG. The noise was...

Latest Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filter as of 2023 January - Is it still a good choice?

I’m looking through existing posts to see if anybody has mentioned the YouTube video “Engineers test the best oil filters for 2023!” Reason being it seems to confirm my suspicion about the ultra that I have mentioned on here in the past. That it was responsible for the piston slap and start up...

Blower motor only works on blast

It’s number two on the list. That’s the old one I’m showing you. Replacement was a junkyard control panel, but same problem as the original

Blower motor only works on blast

I need help. The blower motor on our 2005 Chevrolet Classic will only work on level 5, the max setting. What I’ve done so far: 1) Replace blower motor resistor 2) Replace control panel 3) Replace blower motor None of these repairs solved the problem. Assumption is the relay is good because...

    Chrysler V6 dry starts

My 2019 Cherokee with a Chrysler 3.2 has some annoying dry starts. I assume that’s due to the cartridge filter set up with no anti-drain back. Is there a cartridge filter that has ADB or does a better job holding oil in the filter housing?

    Spring Wild Fires

We are feeling the fires here in New Hampshire. At different times during the day the air is filled with choking smoke and the sun is almost blocked out.

    Fel-Pro quality?

I fitted bolts in every corner to hold it in place and installed. Of course one of the bolts fell into the full pan of transmission fluid. 😂 So far, no leaks. I was going to have old rusty towed to the junkyard, but there are not very many cheap used cars for college kids right now. This pan...

    Fel-Pro quality?

Emergency repair on a 2003 maxima. Transmission pan rotted through. Went to O’Reilly picked up a Dorman transmission pan and a Fel-Pro gasket. There was a time that Fel-Pro was the go to gasket. I’m not so sure anymore, check this out. First pic is the OEM gasket sitting on the old pan. The...

    Anyone use Salt Away?

Interesting. If I sprayed the undercarriage with jus water from a hose, the surface of the rotor would get a quick coat of surface rust. That didn’t happen. Left a white cloudy, but non-rusted coating. Only mixed 2 ounces to 1 gallon.

    Anyone use Salt Away?

So I just sprayed it. Same color, same smell as wet and forget. The stuff I spray on my house to get rid of algae and mold. I swear it’s the same stuff lol.
