I would think a lower efficiency filter would be a safer choice for longer intervals because it is less likely to block flow or go into bypass as it loads up and becomes more efficient. A high-efficiency filter loads up quickly and has the potential to become a bottleneck sooner. Why is that wrong?

That’s what it was doing. After less than an hour the red back light went out which means it’s in maintenance mode. I guess it was figuring out if the battery need to charge, determined that it didn’t and stopped.

Also, it’s not the factory battery. To my surprise looking under the insulating cover it’s a diehard platinum AGM.

I just connected a new “Viking” charger with a digital display. It slowly climbs. Then quickly falls. Does it again. Now it’s just been hanging out at 13.5. Is that what I couldn’t see with my idiot chargers?

So they installed a starter that does not pull away from the flywheel in time. Are they blaming the flywheel? Or are they saying that the starter they installed damaged the flywheel?

The 2010-2017 GM 2.4 Ecotec engine uses an orifice PCV system internal to the intake manifold. It gets clogged relatively easy creating a lot of problems. After cleaning the orifice there was still moisture buildup in the PCV clean air tube, which means it’s not efficient enough. Too much...

Like @Trav mentioned the Nissan 2.5 is known to suck broken catalyst back into the combustion chamber as it shuts down. if your cat set up is close to the head replace it.

I modded a conventional PCV valve and the moisture problems at the clean air side went away. Next is a catch can to see what is getting sucked into the manifold.

On this catch can the baffle is located on the “In” side coming from the PCV valve. Is that the right spot? It seems like it should be on the out? Or is there another reason they put it on that side. Maybe to protect from the stainless steel filter media going back into the engine?

It’s the factory Mopar battery. Im not sure who makes that.
