The 1234yf systems I've encountered take the same PAG oil, Some systems are not different at all except the service ports are different. I converted a set of 134a gauges with 1234yf couplers & charge with 134a most of the time.

I vacuum fill every vehicle, If it doesn't hold vacuum I smoke test the system to find the leak.......Antifreeze/Coolant is expensive & I hate it getting wasted.

Not odd at all with older OBD2 controllers. Tech 2 is the factory scan tool for this vehicle. HP Tuners would be best for OBD data acquisition on a GM/Delphi P01 PCM.
