    Weird issues with Saturn sl1

Saturn's can be weird with TLC/SPS2/SPS3...But the rest of GM product lines seem fine. Still odd you didn't see any voltage from the A/C control head.

    Unusual misfire situation...

I second a dynamic compression test. Is there any tapping noise anywhere in the RPM range? Gen IV engines aren't known to bend pushrods like Gen V's are, Missing one of the M8 bolts on the cylinder head will at most cause a oil leak. Why was the cylinder head removed?

    Weird issues with Saturn sl1

Unusual to have 2 separate problems on the same circuit...But not impossible on a 25 year old vehicle that's had some hands on it. Check for good terminal "drag" at the BCM (Connector J3, Pin A10), If good back probe with a T-pin or Sewing needle & do the test light to B+ test again. Same at...

    Weird issues with Saturn sl1

With a Incandescent test light hooked to battery positive....Probe both circuits at the pressure switch one at as time while monitoring the A/C request PID....If one requests A/C, The wiring from the pressure switch & BCM is good. The LED indicator & Request signal are on 2 separate resistors...

    Weird issues with Saturn sl1

Check for a near 12vdc signal at the pressure switch....This is a high impedance circuit that will carry little to no current. Use a DVOM or a Scope.

    Weird issues with Saturn sl1

Jump the two wires at the high/low (binary) pressure switch together temporarily.....If you now have request, Suspect a faulty pressure switch assuming the correct amount of refrigerant is in the system & the connector doesn't have spread terminals.

Neon transmission shifting problems w/ error codes

They're all ratio errors, Input Speed Sensor error, And Output Speed Sensor error DTC's. First do a good visual inspection of the wiring harness around the front & top of the transmission! Requires some disassembly of components on top of the trans to get a good look. Does the Speedometer act...

    Weird issues with Saturn sl1

The U1000 could be caused by the airbag misconfiguration.

    Weird issues with Saturn sl1

A/C REQUEST A/C request is made by the HVAC control head supplying voltage to circuit 603 to the BCM. The BCM will then request over the serial data link to the engine controller to operate the compressor. The BCM provides evaporator freeze protection by monitoring engine speed and ambient...

Honda CRV 2002 crank no start

Main Relay? Fairly common on those year Honda/Acura.

PCV and Low / High Oil Pressure

Unless you have a dedicated vacuum pump....The crankcase is never under a vacuum as the PCV valve is a spring loaded restrictor or a simple orifice.

What are you working on today?

2010 Nissan Maxima, No crank complaint....From the same shop as the above Acura. The starter solenoid can be jumped & start the car. The Starter, ECM, TCM, PDM, Brake Switches, And Smart Key have been replaced, The original parts were in the front seat. The shop that subcontracted me didn't...

What are you working on today?

2011 Acura MDX, No communication (Can Bus down), Dash lit up like a christmas tree...From a shop I do work for. Traced it down to the AWD Control Module, Unplug the module & the Can Bus came back up.....But the module was not at fault, It wasn't grounded, Ground tested at 10.1vdc on the Pico...

    14b drum brake problems, GMT400

I doubt the seals got hurt, The drum is the heat sink & a pretty large one. The secondary shoe wedges itself against the drum when applying the brakes going forward (Duo Servo), Take a look at the contact pattern on the shoe.....If its small & in the middle somewhere......The radius of the shoe...

    14b drum brake problems, GMT400

May have to run them a little loose 'till they wear themselves to the radius of the drum, Then back up & tap the brake to self adjust them. Or swap in some different shoes & hope they fit better.

97 Buick Park Ave with Unknown Electrical Problem

These cars have a three Door Modules that control the window motors & sends door latch signals to the Body Control Module via Class 2 Serial Data. Check for blown fuses....Just keep in mind fuses don't blow for no reason. Best thing after checking fuses is to use a capable scan tool to check...

One of the nicer homes I have seen at this price point- $640k USD Seminole, TX

Thanks for the information, So basically only a small portion of Texas is in tornado alley (Texarkana area) still. As a kid I always heard the eastern half of Oklahoma was a hot bed for Tornadoes....My mother grew up in Pawnee, Oklahoma in the 50's-Early 60's, Always thought she had a irrational...

One of the nicer homes I have seen at this price point- $640k USD Seminole, TX

We don't count F-Zero's.....It's just a storm with rotation:). I live in Fort Worth where a Tornado is far more likely to occur & only one caused major damage in recent memory when a F3 ripped across the cultural district into downtown 26 years ago. I don't know why people make blanket...
