Is there a relatively inexpensive oil that would fit my application and not shear too badly? I was pretty set on t6 as it's so common and cheap. But if I have to change it every 1k because it's sheared and starts getting clunky I would rather go a different route

Used it in a lot of other applications never had an issue. I'm sure I could get away with a cheaper filter that doesn't go 15k and I won't be going 15k but they're only $6 at my local Walmart so it's pretty cheap to me. Only way I wouldn't use one is if the 4runners don't like them or something

I'm just trying to see if I can get an oil to reduce it or maybe take it away if possible.

Honestly I'd rather try and remedy it without actually digging in there and replacing the seals. I was wondering about Rotella t6. But idk about gm dexos spec and why it's specd. It says 5w30 or 10w30 if above 0 degrees. Idk what a 40 weight would do. And Rotella apparently cleans rather well.

I still haven't decided what to do yet. I haven't tried a different oil or anything yet. But it's definitely not going away. Maybe getting worse.
