whats your oil filter of choice and why?

Glad to hear its working for ya. I like the 820s too but just because its a cheap priced high quality filter. I dont think the bi pass realy effects anything but I have never clogged a filter either. I have run many different filters on my truck with no problems. The particular mod engines I was...

    2013 Ford F150 3.7L base V6 - fleet oil

Ya know I have vct too and it works off of oil pressure. The only oil I have noticed a mpg change with is 40w and it wasn't very much. Im betting the engine will last a lot longer than one ran on 5/20 but thats a blasphemous thing to say here so I wont.

    2013 Ford F150 3.7L base V6 - fleet oil

Idk if it will tear it up or not. Let us know how a 5/20 spec ford runs on 10/30 hdeo! Mine runs just fine on 5/30 10/30 and 5/40 so I bet it will be ok, but it never gets cold here

which of these oils provide best wear protection?

I honesty dont know much about ACEA ratings but i know euro oils have a lot of them.. Would it make sense to say a euro would offer better wear protection? Maybe something like M1 0/40 or GC?

Are gas additives really needed these days??

These days more than ever! IMHO. Using good gas like chevron or shell is good but I like to also dump in something with PEA once or twice a year.

under the hood of my explorer

Lol she just kinda shrugged it off. But she was very happy that the interior was clean and smelling good. After the oil leaks I figured it was a good idea to clean the heck outta it so I can tell if it starts leaking again.

I would dump it. Too low of tbn for winter use. I guess condensation is really hard on it.

    I used auto-rx for 1,500 miles ...

I think times are hard over there and FM took on an investor. Daniel Wiesner is a man who likes to wear many hats anyway so its right up his ally. He probably funded the new formula. So we have concluded that retiredguy is in business with this product and is plugging it here for free...
