    Your vehicles in snow

Grand Caravan on 215 wide General 'Altimax' winter tires (down from 225 stock width) does surprisingly well. Never an issue really. The 2500 Cummins w/ a set of Motormaster W/T's (non-LT's for the winters - no loads other than a sled now & then) chews through most anything. Ripped home through...

Nobody expcts the Spanish Inquisition. Perhaps Mr. FeGoat might consider his sources prior to making black & white utterances going forward in the future here at BiTOG... Give it a few days, let the smoke clear a bit & consider your next post a bit more carefully. Makes me laugh all the...

oil for VSTAR - synthetic 20w-40 is hard to find

Yamalube 20w-40 was the Yamaha standby for years. I think somebody once advised that it was a Citgo product. Not sure how accurate that was... Anyway, no reason not to use a heavy-duty engine oil such as any name-brand 15w-40 or 5w-40. Some people claim that the synthetic version shears out of...

is .357 mag the best defense round?

I like revolvers. So I would recommend one of those to a new shooter. Are you a new shooter? If so, you have a LOT of training ahead of you. A LOT. That may end up causing you to re-assess your initial choice of handgun. Be open to that possibility. I have a 4" Model 19 S&W Combat Magnum. Love...

Finally heard from my boy in boot camp!!!

To paraphrase, "A father's love is a blessing." Just prayed for your boy. To be precise, I prayed that he be given the strength of your love for him as well as that of the Almighty. I guess that the Lord's love trumps that of a Dad but I cannot even begin to relate to that. I'm a Dad now & I...

    Rear wheel drive vehicles

Lots of experience w/ both CVPI's & Caprices in horrendous (cant state that enough - HORRENDOUS) conditions. Always used proper snow tires (as well as stupid 'v-rated' snow tires) and I never encountered any real difficulties. It CAN be done. Skills are required, naturally, but it is very much...

    MMO, the real deal.

It CAN help to clean an engine. Doesn't mean it WILL clean YOUR engine but it has been shown to me here on this website that it can clean up a dirty engine. I use it from time to time just before an oil change. If I remember to do so. No need to set your da__ed hair on fire about it... If you...

    Eid Mubarak!

Mefat Bayrami! At least that is how I hear my Kosovar neighbour Musa pronounce it. Big get together w/ family as the long fast is broken. His wife Nilah makes the best baklava! She also does a spiced meat-infused phyllo pastry. Sort of a very good version of a sausage roll. They are about the...

    R.I.P. Police Officer Melvin Santiago

Requiscat in pace. Amen. Into the Lord's hands, we commend his spirit. Do not waste your thoughts upon the murderer's survivors & what they say or think. Such is not our concern. Let us turn our minds & hearts to the fallen comrade's family & what they must be suffering right now. May they be...

Post Your Latest (Motorcycle) Oil Change!

Really? Would never have considered AFE for a wet clutched bike. Any particlar reason driving that choice? Interesting. Used T5 in my FJR last year & have also used GC green once. Mostly used T6 & D1 in it. John.

    a good 30w oil

Shell Rotella T5 10w-30 is perfect for OPE in my opinion & practise. Certainly nothing wrong in using that T1 conventional 30 weight as mentioned above. John.
