Single cylinder air cooled Honda gear problem

Still kicking myself for letting go of my old SRX-600... Dumb, dumb, dumb... John.

Do former Navy Seals typically brag about it a lot

Work around a lot of guys who serve - they don't talk about what they may have experienced unless you ask them about it. And even then, they probably wont say much. There are always exceptions but they're exceedingly rare. And sad. John.

    Gin: which do you like?

G & T's are my summer drink of choice. 'Bombay Sapphire' is excellent. The 'Rangpur Lime' version of 'Tanqueray' is my go-to for G & T's. 'Iceberg' makes a nicely-priced dry gin as well. John.

    175k Transmission Flush

From everything I understand about the subject, a delayed transmission flush can provoke a lot of unexpected drama out of a transmission. If I were you, I would probably add a quart of Seafoam, run around town a week or so & then do the cooler line tap & flush. I recall learning 'almost' the...

    Kia and Hyundai

Agree w/ the last on Mazda. Had my own eyes hauled opened recently on the marque. We bought a CX-9 (excellent), however the CX-5 is great & the CX-3 is really nice to use. I guess that I have become a bit of a fan as of late. John.

    Jeepers Creepers! (Jeep Patriot)

Okay, so we had one. Wife's DD. A silver one loaded, Limited, I think. Had that horrible CVT in it, AWD, leather seats, sun roof. Best part of it was a not-too-bad stereo system. Of course it needed that sub-woofer to cover up the HORRIBLE FREAKING ROAD NOISE... I cannot over-emphasise that last...

Best ammo size for close quarter residential ?

Learn about what you can reasonably shoot well in an emergency... at night... in your house... I like the .20ga suggestions. Makes a lot of sense. A revolver isn't bad either for a new shooter. But really, if it's only role is to keep you & your loves ones safe at home, get the .20ga pump. But...

Do you have a fave Motorcycle Oil?

Rotella 10W-30 is working well. Traditionally, I used to use the old 'red cap' 15W-50 M1... John.

Germany may ban FCA vehicles / emissions dispute

A distinct part of me is saying, "Yes, tell 'em to jam it...!" John.

    Got it home! Meet Leo.

I really need one of those for when I retire. Seriously. I do. Nobody seems to use them on our side of the border, alas. John.

I think I found it this time. 2014 Caprice PPV 6.0

As an aside, for what it's worth, the specific tuning of a Police package car ('K'-spec in our parlance), is completely different from the a normal car ('B'-spec). I recently bought a 2016 Mazda CX-9 (love the thing) w/ the 3.7 engine. My usual work vehicle is a late-model Panther, but I use the...

    Can smell Canada from here?

I noticed a burnt smell in these parts as well. Likely from the Albertan fires... But that's a LONG way away! John.

    Lucas SYNTHETIC oil stabilizer

Nope, not gonna bite onto this one... No sir. John.

    Motorcycle suggestions

I saw a last-year's model FZ-07 for not a lot of scratch, new, a few days ago. I was really surprised at the low buy-in price for one. Looked like a good motorcycle. The Kenny Roberts-inspired colouring on a new XSR was fantastic. Would love to test-ride one of those! John.

I love mine. Probably never gonna part w/ the thing... John.

    late model diesel pickups

5.9 Common Rail Cummins is likely the best of them all. Only trouble is keeping the truck running around the engine. Got one. Know what I'm talking 'bout. Ford probably makes the best chassis (arguable, though) & the Chevy's Allison has the rest of the transmissions beat... So, wanna build one...

Marvel Mystery Oil, in a 2 stroke..

"Sticking valve"? Not sure I follow? Are you referring to YPVS because I didn't those engines were so equipped... Correct me if I'm wrong. John.

Need an Oil - Chrysler MS-6395

Going on the OLM & under warranty? Use PYB, no question. It flat works. It'll do whatever your van requires over an OLM-dictated service interval. My two cents'... John.

    Generator oil change

I also like T5 10W-30 oil. Use it in a couple Honda EU2000i's & in a Yamaha-engined Rigid gen set. Also sees duty in my 5.9l Cummins but that's besides the point... John.
