I have a 2005 Element with the 2.4l 4 banger...
I asked my dealer the same question about the special oil. According to him and the service manager, Honda doesn't do a "special" oil at factory fill.
I currently have around 40K on the car and have used Castrol Synthetic Blend...
Stick to the Motorcraft products for your 2009.
I have a 2003 Screw with a 4.6L and just turned 95k on the odometer.
I use the 5W20 Synthetic Blend with the Motorcraft oil filter.
Truck runs great with no oil consumption that I can tell so far.
