New Sealed Jug of Antifreeze froze and burst in trunk of car?

"Red Positive lead in the coolant Black negative lead on the negative terminal Doing this give me no meter reaction " The above is the correct way to do this. No voltage means good antifreeze. "because there's no connection to or through the coolant to read voltage." Uh, yes there is. Bad...

New Sealed Jug of Antifreeze froze and burst in trunk of car?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_corrosion Good antifreeze electrically helps separates metals Bad antifreeze joins them completing the circuit and causes high corrosion rates

Red Positive lead in the coolant Black negative lead on the negative terminal I think you have meter leads backwards? And you need to measure voltage not ohms. My meter I set to 2 on the DC voltage setting for the proper scale, auto ranging meters just set to DV volts. What you are doing is...

3rd Heater Core Plugged In 6 Months...

Its not hard to connect one. For yours, I would plumb it in right before the heater core in the input hose $13 at Amazon where I buy mine. I have 10,000 miles on it right now. Here is a pic of one and looked what it picked up in 500 miles! When you do not have a filter, your coolant can get...

3rd Heater Core Plugged In 6 Months...

After I got my 2005 Ram Cummins truck in 2019, decided to put a coolant filter on it. On the 5.9l removed a head plug near the back then ran hoses down to the frame rail passenger side where I mounted the filter. I used a WIX coolant filter. And used transmission cooler hose. I never had any...

New Sealed Jug of Antifreeze froze and burst in trunk of car?

Says HOAT protects cast iron better than OAT HOAT is orange, OAT is purple, generally, I know color is iffy Question is does the bottle tell you it's HOAT or OAT? Only advantage of OAT that I read is it lasts longer, HOAT needs more frequent testing If OAT is not as good at protecting iron...

New Sealed Jug of Antifreeze froze and burst in trunk of car?

Reading that you can test your AF using a mulitmedia If it is generating a voltage greater then 0.4, it needs changing I am going to try it Reason it works is different metals in an electrolyte create a battery with measurable voltage and then metals corrode...

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

Thanks on this but they ought to stick to some kind protocol on filter nomenclature as it causes less concerns. CAT are mostly made by AFS now, the Donaldson factory I read is no longer used https://afsifilters.com/ FF5782NN Does show up as an NN filter, which is good...

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

"That's an older NanoNet part number, back before we started tagging the NN suffix on those part numbers" Thanks for talking with me, is there a FF5814NN that is Nanonet? Are you going to put NN on the end? Is an older FF5814 non Nanonet? Why not be consistent with nanonet media by keeping the...

New Sealed Jug of Antifreeze froze and burst in trunk of car?

Don't think I can know what is in there now. I bought it used, it has an orangish color from what I recall. Could be red, I have not looked at it much. I wonder if you can test it by mixing small amount and see if it curdles? under heat?

New Sealed Jug of Antifreeze froze and burst in trunk of car?

I do think my Cummins 2005 has the red coolant, it has not been a problem. I have older vehicles. I may be confusing red with Dexcool which can turn into jelly, so I have just avoided ever buying any as I don't want extra troubles and have not need any for the truck yet. Orange Coolant, or...

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

I was in a discussion on Cummins forum to use FF filters on a 1-14 thread filter base for my 2005 diesel Cummins 5.9L truck. Someone said FF5814 is just the best, while I was saying FF63053NN is better as it uses Nanonet media, and more comparable to a CAT 416-1225 And that larger filters are...

Cat 1R0750 diesel fuel filter cut open with 10,000 miles

People have tested Hot Shot and it actually works. I buy it at Amazon. You can have great filtration but it won't stop the fuel from causing injector deposits. You need to make certain the injectors are clean before doing the return flow test.

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

The company site does not say Nanonet media under specifications. https://www.fleetguard.com/s/productDetails?propertyVal=FF5814&propertyField=home&language=en_US For filters ending in NN, they all say they are Nanonet media, click then click 'see related results'...
