    20,000 miles in a CX-5 GT-R

After all that, I wanna know how to get my girl (wife) into the back seat. I love Mazdas every since owning new 73 RX3 and 07 RX8. I bought it with 6 speed auto which is still wonderful and holds shift on corners at track day, but wife became the minder, and doesn't like any type of spirted...

New Pistons - Oil consumption better but, not great?

I had a new 70 Toyota corolla 1188cc car. I ran 10w40, and car at 5k rpm which is 75 mph. It seemed to use a quart in 1000 miles in a time when that didn't seem too bad. By time I got about 10k miles on it, the consumption went to less than a quart during the 3k mile oil use. I figured at time...

    Midea refrigerators?

I bought a Midea 3.cuft freezer on Amazon ($249. now), and it's been really good. It was so quiet, I didn't think it was working, but will get 0 or sub zero. It can't be using much electricity because I've had bills as low as $30. in spring or fall.

environmental focus, should I stock up?

Well crude oil was 3 times higher in 2008, and a 12 pack of Mobil 1 0w40 is $50 now. Personally, I'd wait until oil is needed to get latest formulation. My stash is1/2 quart in 2 different cars.

Regrettable dealership experience from someone who rarely complains

So, I'm sitting in the office of quick change place to get INSPECTION sticker, and this worker shows the owner a slightly dirty air filter that "Needs Changing". I could see through it and would run another 20k. I'm picky about my car, but I know an air filter won't hurt engine when slightly...

    2020 X3 Detailed!

I really like the amount of silver contrast and Blue. The chrome grill is spectacular. I just don't get the black look on grills and wheels.

    110K miles on factory filter

Took my BMW X1 filter out at 30K miles in dusty desert town. It had some sand looking dirt that poured right off, and looked pretty clean, so I'll run and put new about 50k. Pretty sure I'm not taking a bad shortcut.

Looking to make a bulk 15w40 purchase

Chevron Delo 400 15w40 is great truck oil, and for cars, too. Look up a Chevron oil marketer or Shell, or Exxon.

Everstart batteries-walmart owned and cant get replacment.

I got run around like that on last battery at WM. Girl behind counter said no record of my battery. I had receipt, but they hadn't recorded somehow. Anyway, I got a new one. I may be wrong, but I thought ANY battery you get has the warranty no matter if it was a payback for a a warranty. I used...

    Nissan brakes grabbing

My BMW also downshifts at low speed which can feel like some more braking. Using ceramic pads is still a very good way to ease off the heavy handed traction system lots of new cars have.

    Nissan brakes grabbing

There's some serious problems on some of those cars where it sets off the collision warning and hard brakes. Watch vids on Youtube. I have a BMW X1 which had very grabby brakes, and system that uses rear ABS as a E-diff. Therefore, the rears brakes and tires wear faster than the fronts. I...

Tell me about your water heater....

I have a home in Indonesia with 3 baths and Rinnai LPG instant heaters. House uses about $100 worth of LPG/year with one bottle for stove. I can buy a heater for approx $150, but this brand is very reliable. The combo washer dryer internally heats water to steam clean.

When is it safe to move?

I have relatives in Indonesia that warm their Honda for about 30 minutes. It never gets much below 70deg f in morn. I told them to quit it.

Regrettable dealership experience from someone who rarely complains

Car service is always upsell. For yours and her piece of mind, I'd just tell her to take the free changes, and nothing , else. The free oil is good enough.

I like the Sam's Club Duracell AGM H7 for my BMW @ $179. They had 3 in stock, and it has handles.

Not really funny but interesting to me

Mandarin got squishy, and stuck. You'll have nice print to remember it by with the slight acid.

    High Quality Two Cycle Oils

I had to analyze some 2 stroke oils for use in my RX8 rotary. Since these oils are a once through burn, just analyzing the additives isn't enough info. Look for tests of carbon clogging, etc. I like the FD rated ones with polyisobutylene. Last I bought that seems to give best growl is Ravenol.
