    Dumb lug nut question

I inherited the snows and lug nuts from my son when he moved to Texas. He had a CX5 as well. I used the snows with the smaller lug nuts for 2 seasons now. When I was switching out the tires and wheels last week I asked myself whether I could use the 19's with the stock rims but thought I should...

    Dumb lug nut question

I've had both 19 and 21 mm sockets and a breaker bar in the spare tire well for a couple of years now. I dislike the stock lug wrench that comes with most cars as it's often hard to get good leverage with them.

    Dumb lug nut question

My 21 Mazda CX5 came with 21mm lug nuts. My snow tire wheels came with 19mm lug nuts (it would be impossible to use the 21's on the snow tire wheels due to clearance issues). I was wondering if I could use the 19's on my stock rims. They seem to fit fine and actually look better than the stock...

    Electric power washer wanted

I have a foam cannon but my desire is to deliver soap with some power behind it. Kinda like self service car washes do, but alas that doesn't seem possible without going to industrial grade equipment.

My first time using impact driver. Wow!

My BIL was a Kansas farmer. He always had some nice tools and always carried a impact driver in his truck and then graduated to a 2855 Milwaukee compact impact wrench (Milwaukee's first compact I'm told). This was at least 5 years ago. It got used all the time to repair fences, gates, and the...

    Electric power washer wanted

That's what I was afraid of. I was willing to go up a little in size and cost hoping to find something, but a more or less heavy duty commercial sprayer is overkill for my purposes. Thanks for the replies.

    Electric power washer wanted

I am looking for an electric power washer that can spray soap under high pressure using narrower nozzles (like coin operated car washes do). I have a small Sun Joe that sprays soap but only at low pressures from a soap specific nozzle (not much stronger than a foam gun). Is anyone aware of such...

Mazda CX5 turbo and NA questions?

Had a 2014 6, a 2016 cx5 NA, a 2018 3 NA, and currently have a 2021 CX5 turbo, and a 2025 CX30 NA. All have been bullet proof with no major issues. I just took a 4500 mile road trip with the cx30. Denver to Dallas to Clearwater Florida.Back roads thru Georgia up to Milledgeville, Madison...

Why do some cars just "eat" tires?

Years ago I bought my son a new 2003 ford focus to commute to college with. It quickly became a tire eater even when "within spec" for alignment. We eventually learned that "within spec" meant nothing with regards to minimizing tire wear. I joined a online Focus forum and found many members...

    Nissan PU drain and fill

My truck has been used primarily for short tripping. I bought it used and not sure if the fluid has ever been changed. I plan on taking it to Texas to let my son use it for landscaping his new home. I would like to get as close to a complete drain and replacement in the shortest amount of time...

    Nissan PU drain and fill

A couple of Nissan PU forums say the 2002 has a wire mesh filter so no filter change needed. I will be using Valvoline MaxLife. The trans supposedly can use Nissan D or S and Maxlife covers both. The drain plug is readily accessible so it should be pretty easy.

    Nissan PU drain and fill

I'm planning a drain and fill when things warm up. My PU trans has a 8.3 qt capacity and it appears you can only get about 2.5 qts out per drain. I was planning on at least 4 drain and fills. My question is how many miles should I drive between drain and fills. I assume it should be long enough...

Car buyer from online auction, trying to scam me?

Procedures might differ state to state. Here in colorado you simple sign the back of the title, no notary or name of whom you sold the vehicle to required. For peace of mind, I always prepare a bill of sale (use free online forms) that includes the buyers name, vin number, date of sale and...

Oil for 2.0 Skyactiv - Battle of the 0w-20

Traded in my 2018 Mazda3 on a 25 CX30 not to long ago. The 3 got QS full syn the whole time I owned it in both 0w20 then 5w30 (once it was out of warranty). I went with QS for it's moly content which Mazda seems to push whether it's needed or not. Usually easy to find at Walmart and tends to...

    Buick Enclave

SIL in western kansas has a Enclave. We've used it for trips to Texas and Ohio. I agree with many of the previous comments. It's incredibly roomy, quiet, and comfortable. I really like the 2nd row captains chairs and adjustability. I also like the really large storage bin under the center...

Pancake compressor for airing up tires?

I have the Ridgid pancake from home depot. It goes on sale for as low as 99.99 and has a decent warranty. It will handle a number of smaller air tools as well. I also have a 5 gallon air tank/pig which I use a lot. It's very convenient (and portable) when I'm lazy and don't want to stretch hose...

Anyone ever get hit by a cop car or any other emergency vehicle? Always wondered how that plays out when they are at fault.

I worked for a city for 30 years. When a city vehicle (be it a cop, or any other department) was in an accident specific procedures had to be followed (a big card was in the glove compartment of every vehicle listing the procedures). The accident investigation unit "had" to be called and a...

Vehicle recommendation (4 seat, sporty, manual, reliable)

The six speed manual is only offered in the Mazda 3 Premium trim hatchback for 2025 (nicely optioned in my opinion...not a base or poorly optioned entry trim)
