    Memorial Day Low Country Boil

My ribcage hasn't expanded this much since...well, the last time I cooked a low country boil. I do these about 3-4 times a year.

    Coyote near the house

Not true. It may be based on region which will cause them to adapt to the environment. I am an avid coyote hunter. We use electronic predator calls to lure them in or simply to see if they'll "talk back" to us...just to see what direction they're in. I'd say they come in groups about 60% of the...

    2002 Chevy 5.8L in van won't start...

Even better...have somebody repeatedly hit the tank with their hand while you crank it over. If it starts up then dies...you'll know what the issue is.

OEM Pads vs Aftermarket GM Trucks

I'm running Wagner Thermo-Quiet pads and Wearever rotors on my Silverado. Just put a new set of tires on the truck so I gave the brakes a look over while the wheels were off. I had to go back through my purchase history on Advance Auto's website to see when I bought them. It was 2013...which...

Federal Mandate on Oxygenated Chemicals in Gasoline

This article is several years old, but could shed some light to the OP's question. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1099149_state-laws-on-ethanol-in-gasoline-only-seven-states-require-e10-blend I'm hauling 90 Rec (90 octane ethanol free recreational) gas to more and more independent...

Auto part store policies. Who makes these stupid decisions?

The only damaged/repaired items the Lowe's I worked at would sell were appliances. We had a "scratch and dent" aisle in the appliance department. We unboxed all the appliances that were to be delivered and inspected them for damage before loading them. We would sometimes unbox something with...

Auto part store policies. Who makes these stupid decisions?

It's not just parts stores. I worked a short stint at Lowe's driving their flat bed to deliver building materials, etc. You should see the stuff Lowe's throws in the compactor...and employees aren't entitled to "rescue" any of it. Brand new expensive grills that may have been missing a part or...

Colonial Pipeline stopping all operations due to cyberattack

The level of 84 cbob never has been below the red line during this event.

Colonial Pipeline stopping all operations due to cyberattack

Right. There hasn't been shortage on the liquid held in the tanks. The suppliers control how much is allowed to leave.

Colonial Pipeline stopping all operations due to cyberattack

Ummm, no we are still having supply issues for certain brands. Couldn't get Citgo or Valero branded regular this morning at the terminal this morning. Still a LOT of unbranded stores we can't get product for. You are right in the sense of the commodity being in the storage tanks. The problem...

Colonial Pipeline stopping all operations due to cyberattack

They would like to have them 90%, which is the EPA standard (room for expansion), but these stores hold a bit more than what we can haul in one delivery. So one delivery that gets them just 75% will suffice until the next delivery. On the other side of things, we often have to carry a mixed...

Colonial Pipeline stopping all operations due to cyberattack

If the original load is loaded for an (example) Exxon branded Circle K and I have a retain, dispatch has to find a different Circle K that is branded the same....ideally one within 30 min driving time...to take the remainder to. Once I load fuel for Circle K, they own it...one if their stores...

Colonial Pipeline stopping all operations due to cyberattack

Happens a lot more than you can imagine. A large fuel carrier that services large chain gas stations has dispatchers that sit and monitor their customers' fuel inventory via internet and dispatch the loads accordingly. Smaller carriers and independent stations may order theirs by phone or email...

Colonial Pipeline stopping all operations due to cyberattack

Not necessarily how it works. All the gas stations I deliver to are dispatched "as needed" and always have been.

Boat doesn't want to plane out

New spark plugs will likely fix it. I've worked on more than a few that wanted to run "flat" on open water. They all started good, idled good, and seemed to run good other than lacking power. Spark plugs fixed them every time.

    What's Your Favorite Performance Muffler

I run a single in/dual out Magnaflow with headers and offroad Y-pipe on my '02 Silverado. Got a deep mellow tone at idle and cruise. Gets pretty wicked at WOT. Sounds great. It's a very good free flowing system that compliments the cold air intake and custom tune. I opted for the 22" long...

    Fuel shortage

Except when the vast majority finally goes to EV, the new cyberattacks will go after the power grid. We've never witnessed mass chaos until they knock out the power grid with mostly EV's in the stable. How many people do you honestly know who can survive just a few days without electricity OR...

    Key doesn't lock/unlock door

Most likely the rod is the culprit. Plastic retainer likely got knocked off or loose when the door got slammed once upon a time. Easy fix. Remove the door panel to confirm.
