Rock Song Or Band Your Tired Of Hearing

Radio is dead. It's all the same songs, or constant repeats of whatever new pop trash is out. I use spotify, but apple music/google play/etc. all offer the same service, any music you want, no advertising, and great suggestions based on what you're listening to. I've found more new music I...

    Floor jack oil recommendation

I just did the oil in mine, put STP hydraulic oil from autozone in. The old fluid came out clear and new looking, but this jack is older than I am and its been at least 15 years since it saw maintenance of any kind. Greased it while I was at it. It's an old astroline, 2 ton. From the 80s i...

Which oil filter type do you prefer?

Cartridge. I've got the underside mounted toyota cartridge and once I got the wrench for the housing it was super easy to change. I can find em for comparable price to canister. ($4 a piece for toyota oem, even less if I buy a pack) My brothers Chrysler has a top mounted one and that is a treat...

Mobil1 0W-20 oil choices per driving needs

No need for a high mileage oil unless you have some seal leaks, I'd bet you can use any synthetic 0W20 and that engine will outlive the rest of the truck. I'd go with M1 because of the $12 rebate, get 4 5qt jugs for $10 a piece! Try two AFE two EP and see what your butt dyno likes more.

    Considering a thicker oil

Wow thank you for all that information on Valvoline Pabst Blue Ribbon I'm sold, consumption isn't terrible right now but the engine is old enough to justify a good cleaning. It was neglected running cheap conventional earlier in it's life. I've never seen an oil actually clean like that.

    Considering a thicker oil

That Valvoline Restore oil sure looks interesting! I just might have to give that a try, should I run a more robust filter if and when I use it? I am currently using the Toyota 04512-YZZA6. Knowing this engines notoriety for stuck rings, and my less than stellar maintenance history (I only...

    Considering a thicker oil

Thank you for your advice. I'm a ways off from my next OCI but I'll try to update the thread once i get the new oil in. Likely going to be M1HM because there's a $12 rebate, which is my primary decision maker on what brand I use.

    Considering a thicker oil

I have a 09 Corolla with the 1.8 2ZR-FE engine, 170k miles. I've been running 20 weight oil(always synthetic), and am seeing about 1qt every 2500 miles of oil consumption. I've been using high mileage oils (pennzoil and valvoline) for a minor leak, which has just about stopped. Would a jump up...
