    Changing recommended oil grade

This reminds me of the situation I am going through. My 2020 Frontier blew the bottom end after 2000 mile since oil last changed. Was it Mobil 1 or was it the oil they put in? I called dealer and they claimed 0w20 was put in however could have been 5w30 as it was a first year for 3.8 and old...

    Mobil 1 Truck and SUV

I agree. They have at least 10 other cases I read about. Several had gone from low rpms to passing vehicles to knock. Others would be in traffic and acceleration to side street then knock. All 2020 Frontier. At least I am driving a 25 Frontier for awhile. Do miss mine as I prefer it.

    Mobil 1 Truck and SUV

Didn't even get a chance to change oil and it blew up. At dealership at this time. Seems like an LSPI event as I was at red light then acceleration then knocking. Dealer changed oil 2k ago at 50k.

Are companies required to prove oil caused a problem?

I keep records of oil changes and maintenance, however I never put brand or viscosity. I don't keep receipts. Dealers ask for receipts to prove you did something wrong.

    Mobil 1 Truck and SUV

Has anyone run this oil in there trucks? I ran Rotela Truck in Caravan, however stash is gone. Will be running 5w30 in 2020 Frontier and some of the reviews claim it will shear to 5w20 but have no prove. Never ran Mobil 1 however I ran regular Mobil years ago.

    3.8L Frontier

Checked oil and overfull. Debating if I should siphon out 1/2 qt. I bet the Nissan dealer put 6 qts instead of 5 the manual states. Manual states 5.3 qts.

    3.8L Frontier

Just got a 2020 with 3.8 50k. I will be running Valvoline Advance 0w20 or should I say was, however looking at history of truck it's had oil changes at quick change every 7500 to 8k. They did change it before I picked it up. Stick is clean so I don't see a problem. Would you just run Advance or...

    2018 Grand Caravan?

This is an older thread and maybe I missed it if he bought the van 8 months ago. I didn't see if he purchased one or not. I just traded my 18 Caravan with 42k with a shift flare and felt like wash board road when cold. Paint was littery come off. To say disappointed is an understatement. If I...
