Ford F-150 shifting in to 1st gear at highway speeds

I had a 2014 F150 that was part of this recall. I never had it drop down to 1st in the time that I owned it. Never got the recall done either before I sold it.

Ford F-150 shifting in to 1st gear at highway speeds

Lead frame issues in the transmission. Believe they said the seal fails and ATF causes a short.

Ram Trucks w/ 8SPD. No shift when door is open.

I believe in this case you would need manually lock the latch(door open, with a screw driver) and hope it triggers the sensor to think the door is closed. Then do the seatbelt thing, and pull the handle so the latch opens again to shut the door normally. Bunch of guys I work with used to start...

    Mid life crisis car; Pacifica

I have a Pacifica Hybrid Touring L in work truck white. Unfortunately Not the S trim or gray/black wheel combo like pictured(actually wanted to buy one in that gray color but it sold before I got there) I think it’s a good looking van especially when the paint is waxed and the street lights...

Recommend sprayer/air compressor combo for fluid film/woolwax

I’ve tried hot water but haven’t mixed yet. The stuff flows fine and will spray perfect without the extensions on. Almost seems like there isn’t enough pressure to push it through the 18” tube AND out 360 degrees. I only get spray towards the bottom of the nozzle. The holes on top just dribbles...

Recommend sprayer/air compressor combo for fluid film/woolwax

if CFM is the issue than these $300 ish air compressors won’t cut it. 4.0 SCFM at 90 psi across the board. Even the more expensive HF compressors won’t touch 5.5. Willing to invest in a good tank for the garage though. I’ll just have to look around to find a sub $500 tank, new or used, that is...

Recommend sprayer/air compressor combo for fluid film/woolwax

I currently have an Amazon Inokraft rust proofing spray gun with 360° extension nozzle running with an 8 gallon 1HP air compressor. Max 120psi. I’ve tried just about everything and it’s just not spraying as well as I’d like. It’s 70 degrees out today. I get about 5 seconds of spray before I...

Will flushing rocker panels cause more rust?

I’ve got a gallon of FF black and a 360 nozzle for my air sprayer. Should be plenty for rockers but 18” extension may not get very deep with the frame. The sprayer is originally for wool wax hopefully fluid film will spray further

Will flushing rocker panels cause more rust?

Unfortunately the truck is too big to fit into my garage so it’ll have to sit outside. I’ve been trying to not drive it but some days I need to haul something so it goes out. Try to plan around the rain so it doesn’t get driven in it til fully coated

Will flushing rocker panels cause more rust?

Actually might buy a can of crown just for the rockers. Didn’t think of it. Even FF is abit thick for my liking. I want it to creep and get everywhere in the rockers. Hence I thought about using ATF for it.

Will flushing rocker panels cause more rust?

A week is probably gonna be impossible til June/July. I’m gonna try blowing out the rockers with air as much as I can then letting it sit for a day. Hopefully it’ll dry up enough for FF. Already flushed the frame out on sunday and it’s dried up. Just waiting for warmer temps so WW will spray...

Will flushing rocker panels cause more rust?

I already put FF over the rust so I’m not sure if rust converter will do much as I can’t fully wash out or even wipe the FF anymore. I can only access the rockers cavity via 1” holes. As long as the rust is slowed down I’m fine if it needs rocker repair/covers 2-3 years from now. Just want to...

Will flushing rocker panels cause more rust?

Already started coating the wheel wells last weekend but my sprayer wasn’t working so I brushed on woolwax after removing the liners. Those are set now just need to pop the tail lights out and spray the bed sides + rest of underbody/inside of frame. These rockers are scaring me a little. I saw...

Will flushing rocker panels cause more rust?

I have a ‘14 Silverado 1500 crew cab out of CT. Underbody is clean but cab corners showing a few small bubble under the factory rocker coating. I pulled the body plugs and there’s a 3-4” patch of rust where the sun roof drains are - still very solid but couple of pin holes which are causing...

Ecotec 5.3 long crank when cold - replace fuel pump now?

Check valve is built into the fuel pump so if I do it I’ll be dropping the tank. One thing I learned with my F150 is stuff like fuel pumps it’s worth it to buy OEM. The pump always likes to go on a full tank, at the worse time possible. Had a Delphi pump go bad on me ended up buying OEM. Did the...

Ecotec 5.3 long crank when cold - replace fuel pump now?

No fuel in oil at all. I get a feeling the anti drain back valve in the fuel pump is bad. Wasn’t sure if it’s worth replacing soon or if a worn check valve can be left alone as long as the pump works

Ecotec 5.3 long crank when cold - replace fuel pump now?

got rid of my F150 and picked up a 2014 Silverado 5.3 ecotec. 150k miles but beautiful rust free body. Mechanically it’s running great. Direct injected motor. First cold start in the morning it’ll long crank(1-2 seconds before firing up). If I cycle the key once and let the fuel pump prime(I...

Acceptable size differential for full size spare

Yup my plan was to run the spare on the rear but last time I had a drive axle go flat. I couldn’t do the swap myself and idk if AAA techs are willing to swap front & rear. Just thought about getting one of the small HF aluminum jacks to keep with the spare. I need another floor jack for the...

Acceptable size differential for full size spare

It’s a 3000lb rated jack. The battery pack is located between the axles. once the jack made contact with the pinch weld it became impossible to turn the handle. Curb weight is 5000lb on the van. Maybe I could’ve made it work if I had more leverage with the jack handle but I don’t want to get it...

Acceptable size differential for full size spare

Basically during the summer I’m on 235/65/17 and my spare would be one of my winter wheels 235/60/18. I was thinking about having a 235/65/17 spare instead due to the very small diameter difference. I don’t leave the local area during the winter so not too worried about having a 235/60 spare.
