    Old Chevy 305 oil recommendation

I may have missed it but make sure its not an exhaust leak or inherent header tick. Castrol Edge 0w40 @ Walmart for $21.97 is exactly what i would put in that engine tomorrow. If it were me.

Two Labs, Same Oil, Different TBN Results...

Flashpoint showing some fuel. 0w30 should hold better as well.

Purolator Efficiency on Upgraded Oil Filters

I just picked up a Titanium from AAP a couple days ago. The media is wire backed still. Same packaging as above.

"Lower tier " oils you have run...

    Motul definitely ain't low tier.

    Frakenbrew for a 2007 F350 5.4L 3V 182k miles

You got a deal on that M1 jug. That should be a quality frankenblend. No reason to change @ 3k... You'll have plenty of TBN left by then.

"Lower tier " oils you have run...

Havoline HM Synblend 10w30. Comes in the 6qt box. I don't particularly consider it a "low tier" oil but it has a low tier price tag. My 5.3 silverado loves it.

Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

"Powerflow" inlet plate and full textured grip. Fram has under-charged for the Ultra filters long enough I suppose. I'm not concerned either way. PS, Evidently the new synthetic blend DOES offer better trapping ability @ 10,15 microns. FWIW

Rotella has truck oil no more?

For a "truck" oil it sure did shear down a lot.

    She’ll T6 15W-40 vs Amsoil 15W-40 SigSeries Max Duty

1000ppm zinc should be sufficient for your engine. With that said, I do like the M1 15w50 recommendation above. A stout oil that will do great in Florida.

Thickest oil grade you have run in winter, summer?

10w30 in the truck / 0w40 in the car year around. I'm also in FL though 😉.

    She’ll T6 15W-40 vs Amsoil 15W-40 SigSeries Max Duty

HTHS is mostly irrelevant to you if you're babying the car... Edge 0w40 is phenomenal oil for the price @ walmart right now. Zddp is around 950 to 1050 ppm per UOA data. I think it would be an excellent candidate for that engine.

Is seafoam as good as redline, crc 1tank?

Seafoam doesn't do much of anything in the gas tank. B12 is half the price and far superior in that regard. Gumout Regane is a decent product with PEA for the price as well.

    Thoughts on Purolator Boss filters

This was the response i received about going from 15k to 20k miles on the packaging and the efficiency numbers on the particular filter im running(pbl14670). Why anyone would go with a Boss over an Ultra right now is beyond me. The 99% @ 25 microns is only on the PBL30001 I suppose and i find...

    Thoughts on Purolator Boss filters

I replaced a MC FL1A that developed an awful startup slap because the ADBV failed. No such issues so far on the Boss. Im content for now. I have another OCI going on this Boss before I do anything. Current fill is M1 0w40.

    Thoughts on Purolator Boss filters

https://www.purolatornow.com/en/products/oil-filters/purolator-boss.html They claim 99% @ 25 microns. Asterisk @ bottom of page. New packaging has it as a 20,000 mile filter. Old packaging claimed 15,000 miles. Has there been a change in the product I wonder? I have one from the old packaging...
