    Found the replacement truck.

I had both a Tahoe and Yukon XL with the 6.2/10 speed combo and loved it. Put about 25k miles combined on the two and didn't have any complaints. 🤷‍♂️ But yeah, as @ls1mike said, the HD 10 speed is a different unit.

    Truck update

Those look great, Mike. I'm kicking around the idea of a 2024 3500 (dually) with the l8t as well. Can't wait to hear your comparison/thoughts of it to your current truck if/when you get the new ride.

Florida sales tax on Auto for out of state buyers

I live in Virginia and bought a Sequoia from Daytona Toyota in January 2019. Agreed to the price over the phone and flew down and drove it home. The dealership conducted the transaction just as if we were in Virginia...charged me Virginia sales tax, gave me a Virginia temp tag, applied for my...

What kind of snacks do you keep in the shop?

A fridge with water bottles is always nice to have on hot days. My detached garage is 150' from the house, so having a cold water within arms reach during hot, greasy job is welcome. I generally don't keep food in the garage, but my first thought would be some trail mix. Probably keep it in the...

    1998 Yamaha PW80

These little PW80s are great little bikes. I moved my boy up to one from a Honda 50 a couple years ago. He's now racing 65s. We still have the PW and he rips it occasionally. :) One of the best mods you can do is to pull the rubber snorkel off the airbox. These PW80s have a rich bog at higher...

Need opinions on cost to potentially finish a half-built house

How long has it been sitting? I'd worry about rot if it's been like that for a while. Was a builder building it? If so, maybe you can reach out to them to see if they could help with an estimate to finish it up.

    ATV/wet clutch oil opinions

T6 will be fine. I've ran it in a bunch of Honda ATVs over the years. Currently have it in a Rincon, a Rancher, a TRX90, a CRF125F, and a CRF250F. Have also ran it in my little guy's KX65 without issue.

I-95 NY - FL and back observations..

Nine you're fine, ten you're mine, in Virginia. I know a poster above said to drive the speed limit in Virginia, but that's not really necessary. Up to nine over and you're generally safe, especially if you're not acting foolish. I see a lot of state troopers in Virginia using LIDAR (laser)...

I-95 NY - FL and back observations..

I live in Northwestern Virginia and drive to Florida a few times per year. The fastest route uses 95 from Fredericksburg south, but I hate that stretch of 95 (to Richmond). It's the worst part of our 900+ mile drive. We also have the option to go due south from our home, hit 64, which we take...

A 20 year BMW E46 birthday on a rainy day

I've enjoyed the pictures you've posted of this car over the years, Scott. Still a very, very nice car - much to your love and care. The early-to-mid 2000s produced some great cars that are aging very well.

Will thread sealant reduce leaks here?

That's a flare fitting. What I'd do is... torque, loosen, torque, loosen, torque... and cross my fingers. Maybe some Nylog on the flare if you have some laying around? The trans fluid may dissolve it pretty quickly, though. 🤷‍♂️

Stumbled upon a old quote for a new Honda Accord

I bought a 2017 4Runner brand new in October 2017 for $35k. I sold (not traded) it in March 2022 for $34,100 to a Chevy dealership. It had 40k miles. They put it on the lot for $40k and sold it in two weeks. Times are wild, but I think it's cooling off big time.

    Got our new gas station.

I've found the 2nd button from the top on the right side usually acts as a mute button for those "Cheddar News" screens. :) I think I was at a pump once that had the button labeled, but it seems to work on most of them that aren't labeled as well.

Time to buy my 2 post lift

Happy day, @BeerCan! My recommendation would be a 10k lb ALI certified lift. Lifts above 10k lbs usually require thicker concrete slabs, so a little more advance planning would be in order (maybe you already have enough concrete, though?). A 10k lb lift should lift your Super Duty just fine. A...

    2022 / 2023 GM V8 AFM Question

You mentioned lifters, then quoted the valve spring issue, which is confusing. They're two distinct issues. As is the potential defective design causing lifter/pushrod failure. The quoted comment from the webpage muddles the discussion even more by saying spring/lifters. Again - two distinct...

    2022 / 2023 GM V8 AFM Question

I'm not sure that's completely accurate, unfortunately. There were a bad batch of lifters, and failure wasn't uncommon, but the forums and FB groups are still peppered with reports of lifter failure in vehicles manufactured outside of the timeframe of the supplied known bad lifters. There are a...
