Which engine oil having high level of resist to fuel dilution

Wow! 3.5% fuel @4500 / 4 weeks! So, you put on that many miles in a month, and you still have 3.5%? That seems a bit excessive doesn’t it? I understand GDI loads it up more, but I would believe that keeping the oil at operating temps should help mitigate fuel dilution a little better than...

Which engine oil having high level of resist to fuel dilution

👆This. @Zee09 may be illegal in 6 states, he may have the death sentence on 12 systems (Star Wars reference), but he speaks the truth! Short trip, short OCI. If it's loaded with fuel, it doesn't matter what brand/viscosity it is. This is why I'm a believer in 5k or 6 months, whichever comes...

    5.7 Hemi spark plug question

My 2011 Ram came with Copper plugs, and that's what goes back in. She runs great on these plugs. The plugs on a Hemi aren't difficult to change out if you have a 5/8" swivel spark plug socket. I have the Gearwrench 80546, and it makes life easy doing this job. It helps prevent side torquing the...

    Trax overheated today..

Coolant low? If it gets back to normal after adjusting the level, I would suspect that low coolant was the cause. What caused the coolant level to be low? You say that you've replaced the "Water Neck" with an aluminum one, so I'm assuming you mean the "water Inlet" on the driver's side above...

What are you listening to right now?

I loved the fact that "The Cars" could change up their style and sound. Benjamin Orr and Ric Ocasek were fantastic! It's a shame that neither is with us anymore. I'd imagine that this was their most popular song and video. I'm not sure I could argue against it.

Possibly getting rid of the CX-50

It’s funny you mention the center console in the CX5. When we test drove one, my wife said, “that center console sits too far back!” She couldn’t rest her arm on it in a comfortable way.

Possibly getting rid of the CX-50

The reason we went with Mazda was their reputation for reliability, and it’s amazing how many owners sing their praises. We didn’t limit ourselves to Mazda, but in the end it came down to Mazda and Toyota. The Toyota RAV4 just didn’t do it for us, so we chose the Mazda. In researching, it seems...

Possibly getting rid of the CX-50

Wow! I hope we don’t end up in this situation with our 2024! So far, at 17k, we’ve been happy with it. I know every manufacturer has an oddball that turns out to be a lemon here and there, but this seems like a lot of problems for a Mazda 2.5! But yeah, if I had that much going on, it wouldn’t...

GM 2.4L Ecotec LAF/LEA - Any known problems?

I've just never been a fan of the Ecotec 2.4L. We couldn't even wholesale anything equipped with the 2.4L to CarMart because they had a "Do not buy" on anything with that engine.

2026 Ram 1500: The Hemi is back in business

No. The Hemi has to have some identifying sound! We have to be fair! The Ford 5.0L has the wonderful piston slap and rattle, so that's out of the question. Ford also has a patent on the timing chain rattle for the 5.4L and 3.5L EcoBoost engines. So that noise is out of the question. GM is...

What are you listening to right now?

Van Halen would never have reached the level of success that they did without Sammy Hagar. I love the DLR era of Van Halen, but DLR was a vaudeville act that couldn't sing for crap. I believe that if DLR hadn't left Van Halen, he would have taken them down with him. Sammy has been rock and roll...
