    Benefits of Conventional over Synthetic

Synthetic is best, conventional is adequate. Synthetics' initial cost is pricier, conventional is initially less expensive. Synthetic will get the job done better, conventional will get the job done. With that being said my system is conventional during the spring/summer/fall, synthetic in the...

First gun, recommend a good 40 caliber handgun.

A Springfield xd is a good choice for a first gun. I would go that route. It's like a Glock, but better.

Anyone pull there purolators early due to paranoia

I'm gradually working my way through my stash to depleted everything but napa golds. For here on our I think that's the route ill go. Every 6 months I can get them on sale for $3.50 a pop. Great price no doubt.

    Trop Artic or Formula Shell

They are both worthy contenders but I'd go with Trop Artic. Great track record and semi synthetic to boot.

    Post your latest oil change

I always fear that happening. Never had it happen though. I imagine if it did I would walk in there pretty ticked demanding to see someone to rip into. It's not the oil that bothers me - its the filter. They screw them on so tight it's almost impossible to get off. Had to crush one with a...

Should I trade my SP101 for a Springfield XD?

Made the trade. Don't want to disclose the details but I ended up trading in a TCP as well and put a shield on layaway on top of that. The XD is quite possibly my favorite pistol. Just, yes.

Should I trade my SP101 for a Springfield XD?

Found a used Subcompact XD40 and I can do a straight up trade with the gun shop. Both guns retail for about the same price. Mine is a DA/SA model 357/ Reason being I like semis better than revolvers and I have had a hard time dialing the sp101 in to where I'm comfortable shooting it. I can make...

Ruger LCR in .38 or .357 -- good carry pistol?

If I was to be pedantic I would say the LCR is not a pistol, it is a revolver. I try not to get the two confused. Depending on how you choose to carry, the LCR would either be perfect or a pain in the rear. Pocket carry seems to be too thick but that's about as thin as you're gonna get for a...

    dumb question

I know people say to follow the manual, but when you get used to your vehicle you kind of know what to add - second nature almost. I think my Prius manual says 4.5 quarts. I would NEVER add that much oil to it. 3 to 3.5 is my norm, and once I did 4 quarts and it read vastly overfull. Hyundai...

Fram Orange Can of Death vs. Purolator

I usually would say Purolator. I haven't had any issues with any Purolators, but others will say stay away from the Classics. I dunno. I wouldn't take an OCOD as a viable option though. Best answer? Do something Wix. Like a Napa Silver/Gold/Platinum or the new O'Reilly Microgards.
