    High performance lubricants oil

I see no reason to doubt the quality of the oils produced by hpl. I don't know if you realize how lucky you are (at least those of you who live in the US) to have companies like hpl that can produce oils with almost no compromise, sure the price may seem expensive to some but hey. At least you...

    Castrol 0w-40 LL-01 ?

There is another reference on the infineum website regarding the new bmw ll-19fe specification. https://www.infineum.com/p6800/ Note the * Further extensions are planned.

2022 Corolla Cross HPL PP 0W8 16,723 Miles

Many thanks for all the first-hand informations. Based on the mileage and the very good wear rates, i wrongly assumed the use of a tech involving some silicon wizardry. After all, and as seen on some recents threads, you do have some highly qualified and devoted chem techs behind your product...

2022 Corolla Cross HPL PP 0W8 16,723 Miles

Fair enough, i'm here to learn anyway. I just wanted to ask if a "Silicon value" that high was normal for an engine with 19k miles.

2022 Corolla Cross HPL PP 0W8 16,723 Miles

Are we witnessing the birth of a new type of adpack here? Some kind of anti wear based on sulfur containing silicon compound may be? Other analysis by @Direct_Rejection with a different car but on the same oil show nearly the same Silicon/Sulfur values. Modern oil for a modern car indeed calls...

    VOLKSWAGEN 502 00 / 504 00 / 508 00 / 511 00 APPROVAL LISTS

PV2547sa is probably the designed lubrizol additive package to meet the latest 504.00/507.00 approval. Back in the day, it used to be LZ21303/21305a. It is the same with the bmw fluid approval system, they used to list the lubrizol and infineum additive package needed to meet the ll-04 approvals.

    MOTUL questions

+1 You just can't go wrong with the x-clean+, it's a very capable oil. I would definitely recommend it if the price is "right" in your area since any motul branded product can get expensive depending on where you actually live 😅

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and BMW Long Life 04

Fuel quality over here actually is a big concern and that's the main reason behind the shorter oci already mentionned earlier. The plan for now is just to stick with the motul x-clean+, though i may try the x-clean efe 5w30 version just for the sake of it as it's also cheaper.

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and BMW Long Life 04

Yeah we are all aware of that, yet we can't help ignoring the data they may provide together with all the info gathered from places like bitog to help us spend those well earned 80 usd at every oil change.:ROFLMAO:

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and BMW Long Life 04

Based on some voas and sometimes what's included in some m1 esp range msds displayed here and there, we can clearly conclude that they all share the same additive packs and base oils but just in different proportion mainly for the low viscosity and low hths ones. Still, the fact that m1 esp lv...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and BMW Long Life 04

@BMWTurboDzl I haven't even asked them about the price, but i guess it would cost me a kidney for the oil only minus the filter. Haha. The car is already out of warranty and that's why i'm delving into the other than dealer's oil territory. @kschachn i live in Antananarivo. @edyvw iirc you said...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and BMW Long Life 04

Thanks BMWTDzl and andreigbs for you answers. I think I’m going to stick with the motul right now and try a 7.5k kms oci. Still, I’m quite intrigued by the esp 5w30 not sporting an ll-04 approval since it seems to be a very capable oil judging by the intrinsic quality of the base-oil(gtl, pao...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and BMW Long Life 04

Afaik. When the car came out, bmw recommended 15k kms oci (or it was 30k kms) but since that particular engine is notorious for timing chain problems and upon reading some "specialized bimmer" forums , i wouldn't take that risk. All that combined to the facts i already posted earlier...

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and BMW Long Life 04

Hi everyone. First time poster here and sorry for reviving an old thread. My daily driver is an x3 with the dreadful n47d20a engine (i know i know) 😅. For the next oil change, i'm very tempted to get that mobil esp 5w30 since i can get it cheap enough with some rebates and despite the fact it...
