Synthetic is okay in that engine. I would use the thicker euro stuff too, like 0w30,0w40 if possible and a fram ultra which has exceptional flow while having the best filtering rating around.

And just for the record I'm only working with 3 grand cash and anything over will be short term financed if need be. I'm not exactly thrilled with the quality of the $3000 used cars at private party recently

I clean after every range trip, whether I fire 50 rounds or 500. Sometimes if a specific firearm had a low count I'll do a less than thorough job on the less dirty parts but the barrels of my semi high auto handguns get cleaned thoroughly after every range trip.
