Replace electric rack and pinion on a 2005 Toyota Prius?

I believe if you look at the rack you'll see a small piece of it broke off as well. I may be wrong but that's what it looks like to me.

Replace electric rack and pinion on a 2005 Toyota Prius?

I believe the dealership that had this vehicle tightened the bolt between the rack and pinion and the passenger tie rod end and snapped it off. They were doing an alignment and used excessive force. The force was enough to damage the tie rod end as well.

Replace electric rack and pinion on a 2005 Toyota Prius?

I'm having the same trust issues which is exactly why I may be going straight to a Toyota factory unit.

Replace electric rack and pinion on a 2005 Toyota Prius?

The problem seems to be finding one that's worth using. I feel a bit lukewarm about the remanufactured units. There's definitely some variance on the quality and durability of the components I'm finding on Amazon and Ebay versus a factory unit. I also can get one for $75 at a local auto...

First car for son: 3800 Buick vs Crown Vic vs Camry 2.2L....need advice

Feel free to PM me. I think you're on the right track but at that price range the prior owner's maintenance and driving habit habits have a much greater impact on the quality of the vehicle than the brand or model (with a few exceptions). Here's what I have locally, but I also buy plenty of...

    Thoughts on Buyback Vehicle

As someone who knows a lot of high ranking employees at both North American operations, the bigger issue was the absolute lack of synergies between the model lines. Honda's greatest issues as it applies to product, here and abroad, is in three areas. 1) A lack of penetration in the luxury...

The price for the Toyota bZ4X is falling sharply at the dealer auctions.

I'm starting to see a healthy number of the BZ's becoming buybacks and sent to the wholesale dealer auctions due to the 12 volt battery issues during its earlier run. Honestly the price is quite tempting, especially if you qualify for the EV tax credit. You can get a '23 model with super low...

    Are Smart Watches really "Smart"??

My wife has a Yamay watch which we bought for fifty dollars about six or seven years ago. They no longer make, it but I see them for sale on Ebay for around $20. It does everything that a smart watch does. She uses it to track her sleep, do her exercises, and it also has an alarm clock. She...

    Thoughts on Buyback Vehicle

Here's a lot of important notes. First off, certain states such as New York, California and surprisingly Michigan are litigious to the nth degree when it comes to applying Lemon Law legislation. They have absolute armies of luxury vehicles that become buybacks, and most are in the very high...

Walmart EV Charging Network - Finally Under Construction!

I have actually been enjoying this for over five years. There is a Level 2 charger at a bank that is a few hundred feet from Walmart. It offers free Level 2 charging for two hours. We will often take two cars. We will visit other nearby places and then come back and shop at Walmart before...

Kelly Blue Book online: do the values have any meaning to you?

KBB underpriced older vehicles so that dealers can make more money on their trade-ins. It's not remotely accurate. Even for new cars they tend to have a scattered approach to valuation which is why their parents company no longer uses them.

New Dodge Hornets selling well below MSRP- worth consideration??

These are getting to be super-cheap at the auctions. But I haven't bought a single one. I have a very strict policy on buying anything that I wouldn't be willing to keep myself for the long haul. These vehicles have all the markings of a sales dud with premium parts and service cost. If you're...

Toro Walk Behind Mower - No Oil Changes Required ?

I do around 10 mows a year so maybe 10 hours in total. I got a ton of free 20W-50 synthetic during COVID and use that to top it off. Since I bought it used for $100 well over a decade ago, I just top off when needed which is every two to three mows. My neighbor did a fantastic solid for me...
