Turn on Flexible in the maintenance section of the touchscreen. That's what I use, and it seems to monitor air temps and trip lengths.

Could also be ice in muffler, if you short-trip it.

Silicone rubber will keep that on forever.

Replace ALL the fuel hoses and hand pump. Alky fuel rotted those on my 1990's Merc. Be sure to clean out the gas tank, and if you are competent, pull the card and take it apart and clean it out. Try to oil all the cables, and grease all the fittings, too. Check the spark wires for dry rot.
