Real world duty-cycle of a 140 with 3/16-1/4" on 110V is one area of concern. I agree once I start looking into a used 180, may as well splurge for the new 211, or even a used one. Many good deals come along with the smaller ones, cart, bottle, etc.
To clarify, I would like to spend $500 on a used Hobart, Lincoln, or a Miller, not a cheap chinese welder....instead of a brand new 211. Just my dillema, but I agree the 211 new would be worth it, just exploring options based on my needs.
So I'm stuck on a welder decision and would like to naturally save some $$ on this purchase. I cannot see needing more than 1/4" capacity, maybe a rare occasion, as well as needing to weld more than 3 linear feet at once, so duty cycle should not be much of a problem.
I have a 20A 220 outlet in...
Wouldn't it be a possible outcome if a dead battery was just started and didn't have the capacity to flow high current immediately after startup?
I would think so.
How do you check the battery current by itself anyway with the alternator connected?
This has been the best soap I have used. Haven't tried Meguiars Gold Class but the Chemical Guys has checked evey box for me. Either 2-bucket method or foam cannon...
They tend to leave a residue which are the minerals from the water. I'm not going to use distilled water and even being on a well they leave a residue, the white, powdery residue. Maybe some new models alleviate this but I have never had an issue with evaporative models and they are more...
I will eventually go back to a whole-house humidifier, but for time being, I need a quiet floor stander that's not ultrasonic. I tried the Aircare HD special which worked until it stopped working, but only quiet on the lowest fan speed.
I need about 2K' coverage but would like to have it...
FWIW, our Toyota is the only vehicle I've owned where I go to the parts counter for their oil, and pick up a case of 6 qts of Toyota Synthetic 0W-20. About $8.50 qt and the add pack is good. I have to look up the add pack but iirc it has a healthy dose of moly. I just wont take it past 5K OCI's...
After seeing the XP filters split at the rolled seam, and now this...I.was ready to stock up in some of their filters but seems QC has taken a back seat.
No thanks.
I agree, I had to splice a TB harness on a GM vehicle and that worked great for years. I guess the only issue I'm dealing with is the decision to simply replace the harness given the reasonable deductible. I don't want to personally, but being it's the significant others' vehicle, it appears she...
The way I understand how a MAF device operates, is the IAT is as critical as the airflow sensor. The PCM calculates the "mass" of the air by the airflow and temp of the air, to determine proper density...the "mass" is then calculated.
I just don't like being ripped off at a dealer even though...
Yeah, it doesn't look like all the wiring needs replacement, can't see any other damage than the one pigtail right now.
It appears to be the MAF/IAT harness, which is an easy fix. I'm not a fan of a spliced section of harness given sensitive mV parameters of the PCM but safe bet it would be...
For the longest time on my Envoy, I used 6 qts of M1 EP 5W-30 and 1 qt of M1 V-Twin 20W-50. Need to do a VOA but the V-Twin adds a little kick of Mg,Ca, and Zn.
I still mix this on occasion in my L94 6.2, yields an approximate 7.5W-33 😎
Does this help, hard to say but for my own piece of mind...
The replacement would be a factory new harness.
Yeah, I did peek around quite a bit and traced the loom all over the motor, I don't see half their rate and 10 seems logical doing it the first time and being overly careful.
I agree.
Yeah, plan to hit a few other forums. I have also searched this on Toyota forums and it doesn't get answered much. I have no idea what's involved but could be a cash cow given the silence...Who knows. No doubt it's involved but I have to question 30 hours.
For a 3rd Gen Highlander V6 non hybrid, what's involved in replacing the engine wiring harness? Our 2014 has some rodent damage so exploring options. Would this harness be in the engine bay only with a firewall coupler or does it have wires entering the passenger compartment? Can this be done in...
