    Cost for full brake job?

Up here in the Northeast, I saw my rear pads were worn down when I changed over my winter tires. Everything was so rusty, I decided I didn’t want to deal with it. Found a local shop to do new rotors, pads, and hdw for $300. When I priced out the parts, decent rotors were $90 each and ceramic...

U.S. to release 1 million barrels of oil per day from reserves to help cut gas prices

I would rather leave the reserves in case we need it for our military. You never know what might happen these days. Will the release really have much effect on gas, heating oil, diesel etc in a country this large?

    Non DOT helmets

ECE is ok, but if the helmet is not also DOT, you will not be considered in compliance if you ride in a state with a helmet law. I have one helmet that is ECE and DOT, and the other one is DOT/ Snell. Some track days require current Snell cert. bottom line is any helmet with one of the major...

    Loud motorcycles are back

Don’t be so sure Zee. Lots more people who don’t ride than do. politicians are not worried about losing the “motorcyclist vote” . What about steps to legislate not only decibels but also HP? Motorcycle only checkpoints already exist. I guess the guy who railed past my house with open pipes...

    Loud motorcycles are back

They like the way it sounds. I like the way my motorcycles sound also, but I don’t Rev the bike in traffic and annoy everyone around me.

    Loud motorcycles are back

I am far from “politically correct” if you knew me. I just don’t want to get hassled on my bikes because bad actors have set an expectation of bad behavior. A few years ago, I was at an outside restaurant. My bike had stock pipes on it. When I walked over to start it, a mother put her hands...

    Loud motorcycles are back

Squids are also recognizable by the incessant blipping of the throttle when stopped at a red light. My GF asked me last Summer if something was wrong with this rider‘s bike. I told her the nut behind the bars was loose. im talking about a fuel injected sport bike that would idle like a Swiss...

Is there a list of oil thickness relative to the weight of the oil?

Yes that is helpful. So I can compare the viscosity @ 100C for the weight and that will tell me which side of the spec the particular oil is. I will do some googling of specs on oils I have used or am thinkI got of using. thanks for the info!

Is there a list of oil thickness relative to the weight of the oil?

Looking for information. Some of the posts I have read here talk about a brand of oil being “thick for a 5W30”, or “Thin for a 5w30” is there a list of oils that tend to be on the thick or thin side of the specs for their weight? It might be helpful to have that as a reference. Thanks

    Loud motorcycles are back

Cruisers are definitely frequent offenders, but some of the inline four sport bikes are equally loud. non motorcycle people don’t really know the diff- they think all MC are loud.

    Loud motorcycles are back

I’ve run into that also- bikes with sound systems cranking at crazy volumes. Comes down to respect for others. There are very good in helmet speakers that sound good and allow the rider to hear sirens, horns, etc. you would have to wear a helmet however to use these in helmet speaker systems……...

    Loud motorcycles are back

I love motorcycles. I currently own 3 and would have more if I had the financial capacity to buy, store, and maintain them, my job is in the industry, and pre-Covid, I commuted to work and got a decent amount of riding in. Now, we are mostly WFH, so my riding is weekends and after work. Spring...

Movies worthy of a GOOD remake

I liked Soylent Green, but I’m a Charton Heston fan. Some call it overacting, but I call it on screen charisma. Edward G Robinson was also a classic great actor, and was in Soylent Green. Ben Hur, the Ten Commandments, the Omega Man, Planet of the Apes. Some of these have been remade, but IMHO...

    Brady retires

Come back, don’t come back. Competitors can never tell when to quit. Tired of hearing how Brady is the “GOAT” No one is the GOAT, some are the GOTT=. Greatest of their time. Impossible to compare positions over different eras. Brady undeniably was the best QB of his time. 80’s, 70’s, 60’s…...

If WD40 isnt a good lubricant, what is?

Someone on here turned me on to Houdini for locks and hinges. Stuff works great and dries so it doesn’t attract grit. WD40 good for cleaning and drying. PB blaster for rusted bolts, but I have read good things about Kroil and others. I also like to have some dry lube around. Elmer’s used to...

    1987 New Yorker 2.5l N/A Oil

Those are cool cars. If you’re not in a hurry, they are comfortable and a nice place to spend some time behind the wheel. Someone I used to know had a 1992 Fifth Ave mark cross version. It was sweet. Paint flaking off the too and some clear oat peeling on the hood. Cracks in the landau top. the...
