    Post Your Latest Coolant Change.

2000 Buick Century 71k miles Had Valvoline do a flush 2 years ago at around 35k which was the original coolant. Had them do it again today at 71k. They use their MaxLife Coolant. I plan on doing the intake gaskets next year when she hits 100k if it needs it or not, so it’ll get done again...

    First oil filter you bought?

First one I bought myself was a motorcraft 820. First few cars I had were all 4.6L Fords.

What is considered as 'Optimal' engine oil temperature... ?

It’s nice especially when towing in extreme conditions. Last summer I had to tow our 8k pound camper through the mountains. It was over 100 degrees and it was the first time I’d towed it that far. So I was already nervous. Keeping an eye on things made me feel a little better 😂

What is considered as 'Optimal' engine oil temperature... ?

This is where my Hemi Ram sits. Even when temps hit 100 degrees they don’t change very much.

    New CRV

My Mother in law has a 2018 CRV with the 1.5. It currently has 170k on it. Where she lives in the country she has atleast a 20 minute drive anywhere she goes that are 45-55 mph country roads. Besides the few oil changes I’ve done to it, it gets oil changes done at the dealer. She generally...

    Prime Guard POF-111 C&P

Thanks guys! For the old Buick I’m sold on these. I do have a couple EcoGuards that I got for $2 and some change. I’m interested to see how they look. I have a couple AC Delco’s and such in my stash. Once they’re gone I’ll just stick the Prime Guards on it. Not sure what the efficiency is...

    Prime Guard POF-111 C&P

Howdy fellas, Prime Guard POF-111 4,700 mi OCI. Used on a 2000 Buick Century with Providence 5w30 HM. An EcoGuard and Valvoline Maxlife went back in. Very impressive for a $1.99 filter. The can was very sturdy as all PG’s are. The ADBV was still pretty pliable. The molded/glue/foam 😂 type...

    Rental review - 2024 4Runner

We’re about the same height and that assessment is Spot on. Since we’ve been doing road trips now a few times a year, seat comfort is now a top priority.

    Rental review - 2024 4Runner

We considered these for the 21 model year, but went with the JGC for the Wife. The only real complaint we had was the seats were terrible. But I respect it for what it is. Not sure what she’ll go for next. She usually wants a new one about every 5 years. She doesn’t like the new JGC either.

"Lower tier " oils you have run...

About 10 years ago I posted some UOA’s from the Cam2 syn blend the dealership used and they came out fantastic. Since then I’ve ran HarvestKing/Providence, Supertech & STP. As far as “lower tier” goes. I’m pretty fond of the AutoZone oil deals with their XL oil filters. Especially when adding...

"Lower tier " oils you have run...

Reading through this old thread and ran across this. Lol I worked at Murray’s in high school over 20 years ago and got to tag along to do some product training. It was made by ConocoPhillips (atleast starting in 2001). I only remember that because they gave out a bunch of t-shirts and hats. The...

You know it sir! 😂 I’ve got it draining, so hopefully I’ll get it done later in the week before we leave for vacation. I’m very interested to see how those end caps held up. They are a molded glue/foam type material.

    What’s the new ‘top filter?’

This ^^ I’d even take it a step further and say for 7-10k just use the Top Tier Premium Guard filters. Would only need the others if going beyond 10k.
