Thanks for that info. Looks like Ravenol has that Mopar number listed in its specs sheet for fluids it can replace.

But it does look like you’re spot on with any full synthetic working. There are a couple cross reference websites that pull up Dex-III fluids for the shell spirax. So it would be safe to assume Amsoil full synthetic ATF would most definitely be an upgrade over the OE fluid?

Blauparts has a little section on their website saying that the Ravenol fluid can be used for both transfer cases. Wonder why FCA has such an odd fluid spec’d?

Hey all, I have a 21 Ram Rebel with the BW 48-12 transfer case. Which does not have the 4-Auto option. The “recommended” Shell Spirax is kinda hard to find in non-bulk form. From what I’m reading is that BW-44 fluid can be used? Seeing what y'all think. Thanks!

Yes sir. Was purchased new by my wife’s grandparents. Only had 24k on it when we inherited it in 2021. I use it as my commute car. Which for the last year and a half is 54 miles each way all highway.

I’m thinking about changing my 21 Rebel to 5w30. They say the engine will set off a “soft code” that doesn’t set off a check engine light but you’ll see it when you scan it when using a thicker oil. Would be interesting to know if that’s true or not.

Just out of curiosity I checked the EcoGard Synthetic I have on the shelf. I stuck my finger down the hole and it came back out with some tiny metal debris on it. Now I’m paranoid lol

All my Dad used was Castrol in whatever weight was required. That’s all I used for a long time because of him.
