I doubt any vehicle can monitor the oil temp at the oil control ring on the piston. Which is where the problems today are created. I would think that the flashpoint of the oil would determine the carbon disposition there but I am not sure what temp has to be reached to form the carbon from oil...

As happy as I am about this, manufacturers have a problem. It takes 3-5 years to get a new engine (or resurrect an old one ), so what happens if this changes again in the next election. Tough problem.

It is interesting to see that even with the oft mentioned cleaning abilities, the VRP oil seems protective with low wear metals as well. A good everyday oil. Thanks for posting your results.

One thing that may or may not mean anything - when you bring your own oil to Valvoline oil change center, they mark your oil change with a different code if you bring a Valvoline oil, "V-customer suppled" I think they are noticing.

The 2019-2021 Kia Sedona is a reliable vehicle. Head bolt problems of 2016-2017 were fixed. Use something like Techron before every oil change, top tier fuel, (to reduce injector spray pattern issues and resulting carbon in combustion chamber) and severe service schedule (3,750 mi OCI). Use...
