Those KA24s were tough engines. I had one in my '98 Altima. It put up with me and my boneheaded teenage driving. I was not easy on that car at all. I'd love to get one of those trucks, but they've pretty much all rusted out here in MI.

This one has 265,000 on it. They got their money’s worth. :) it’s been pretty good to them aside from an intermittent no-start issue over the past 2 years.

It is weird -- the car is in great shape and most of the undercarriage is just surface rust, but there were those few spots that looked bad.

I'm using a Blitz pan that I've had for over 10 years as well. A very nice design, provided you remember to open the plug in the middle and the breather hole... ask me how I know... :)

I'm considering buying a high mileage 2009 Saturn Vue from a family member. They've owned it since it had only 10,000 miles on it and it's well maintained with tons of maintenance records. Extremely clean interior and the outside is in very good shape aside from one rust spot on the rear quarter...

Somewhere near the 575k mark as the oil pan and valve cover gaskets started weeping a bit and to see if it would help some of the consumption. It goes through about 1 quart per 1k miles like clockwork. It doesn't matter if it's city, highway, 0w-20, 5w-30, etc. and using high mileage didn't help...
